Poor quality and not really fit for purpose
I read a few reviews about these before ordering, the reviews seemed mixed but I was happy enough to take that risk. The first impressions were favourable, nicely packaged within a box with each tool individually wrapped in a plastic sheath. The handles feel good, soft covered material and the weight of each tool is fine. However the finish of each of them is quite poor. In particular the lacquering is quite rough and patchy.I have included several phots to try and illustrate this. Using them as bought would only leave trails within the plaster or mortar etc. I can only imagine that due to the unevenness in the lacquering, seems missing in some small places, then the tools could rust quite easily. The rusting is noted in several of the other reviews. In the plasterers float there was a hole in the face of it. I have captured this on a photo. Not sure how that could have happened, although it was aligned with handle so perhaps related to a weld..?This would have been a problem with leaving marks when using.I understand that these tools do not cost a lot of money but they still have to be fit for purpose.I am only a casual DIY person, we only have a need for one or two simple jobs for these. But I do not believe in buying disposable tools - too much these days seem to be throw away one use type.I am in the process of returning these and have paid not much more for another set sold here that seem to be rated quite well. Naming another brand within this review will only get it rejected. So sorry couldn't do that.I would not recommend buying these.I do hope that this review and photos have helped you.Happy shopping.

Injured by dangerous packaging
I opened the outer Amazon box, and lifted out the inner Rolson box containing the trowels. The box is loosely sealed at either end by a flimsy cardboard flap (no tape). The fact I was holding the package at a slight tilt (10 degrees?) was sufficient for the heavy contents to slide to one end, push open the flap, and all fall out. So now I have 5 heavy trowels falling 4 feet, pointy end first, onto my bare feet...Two (the brick and pointing trowels) stabbed my right foot, drawing blood. A further one (I think the jointer) bruised it badly. A month later, the injuries have almost healed. Please Amazon/Rolson:1. Use tape! Just a postage-stamp sized bit of tape at either end of the box would have prevented this.2. Put end-caps over sharp objects.3. Use more substantial packaging for sharp objects. You wouldn't send kitchen knives like this!PS I used the trowels to lay some paving slabs, and they're perfectly good trowels, hence the two stars rather than one.

Not Marshalltown but complete set for the price
Trade: Groundworker and handy to have when we have to lay a few slips, bricks or blocks here and there..Perfect set as has everything in! For the price aswell, you just can’t argue! If you are an experienced bricky then you might argue it’s not as good as your preferred Marshalltown trowel, but again, for the price and as I don’t use this daily for bricklaying all of the time, I just can’t argue! It’s easy to use, comfortable on the wrists and is a complete set for a great price!

Used very extensively over the last 12 months to build ...
Used very extensively over the last 12 months to build massive wall (just the small and large brick trowels); trowels performed faultlessly and are essentially still as new as far as nothing having gone wrong with them goes. Always washed down after use.

Great trowel set for home DIY jobs
To start with I’m not a professional, I’m a have a go DIY’er with the best intentions but limited experience. My last project; a brick BBQ looked liked it was missing a plum line or four...On starting a new project I thought it worthwhile buying a tool set that could help with the work, this set of trowel set certainly helped. All of them have a sturdy handle and clean up easily.I have nothing to compare them against but can see these will last for a good few years with my relaxed usage.
