Works perfectly for brittles and divinity

I have had this thermometer for a few weeks now. I've used it to check the internal temperature of meat as well as cook milk for making cheese. The thermometer measure between 45 and 450°F and is pretty much perfect for all kitchen uses so I have no need to purchase three different thermometers. Fairly self explanatory in programming. I do wish I could turn it off instead of waiting for the auto shut off. I've not experienced the same clip problems others have described. I use mine with my stainless Emrill cookware, clip to the pour spout and angle as appropriate. The clip has two positions to either sit strait down the side of the pot or angle to the center. I prefer the center so that I get a more accurate readout. My biggest complaint is that it is not back lit and therefore it can be difficult to read if your cooking area is somewhat dark. I've not experience the fogging others have mentioned. I also wish it had come with a paper manual or instruction sheet. The instructions are printed on the back of the packaging which is stapled together. Essentially you will destroy part of them (in my case the part describing how to change the battery) when you open the package unless you are VERY careful at removing the staples.Pros:Wide temp range, no need for more than one thermometerQuick reference guide on the storage shieldDual positioning clipStainless (no breaking glass thermometers)Cons:No off buttonNot back litHighly recommend it!

I like the thermometer, it's just a little less nice than one mage by Taylor that I was given as a gift and that's when I discovered this item can't be returned once purchased. Caught me by surprise, because almost everything I've purchased can be returned I don't even look that closely at the listings.Just be aware that once you buy it, like it or not you can't return it.

I am definitely not using this for its intended purpose, but I've tried several different thermometer options and this one has come closest to being perfect. When warming a bottle for a baby, I wanted 5 things, in order of importance:1. Being able to set an alarm at a specific temperature2. Constant updates so that you don't go over temperature3. Being able to easily position the thermometer in the bottle while it is warming in a bottle warmer4. Being able to easily clean5. Being able to _remember_ the alarm, so that you don't need to reprogram every time you turn on the thermometer6. being backlit so it can be easily read in the darkMost thermometers I've tried only meet some of this criteria, but this one has met all the requirements except the last. If this was back-lit, it would be perfect, but it would also probably drastically reduce the battery life. Also the alarm goes off 3 degrees or so before it actually meets temperature, but its easy enough to increase the target temperature to compensate.Of particular note: the heat shield makes it perfect for positioning the device over an open bottle!

First time using this, as you can tell by the boiling sugar the reading may be just a tad off. Didn’t work at all. Don’t recommend.

I have used it 3 times now to deep fry. It reads accurately there as well as in the boiling and the ice water test.It is big. Be warned.Nitty gritty:It is easy to use. It could use a backlight, but I am willing to live without that for the ease of use and accuracy. The clip could be better quality with a tighter grip on the pan side, but it *IS* possible to find a sweet spot where it just stays there. -- I have not have the problem others have reported with the clip breaking, at least not yet. --I like how it has holes in the clip for different angles. My old analog thermometer only had one angle.It beeps when within 3 degrees of temperature which is nice. It's got different beep patterns for at and over temperature as well. This will come in handy when I get into making homemade soft caramel candies.It's easy enough to clean, but a bear to store in my limited kitchen space.

Not sure if it is worth the price, but it works perfectly well. So much better than the digital thermometer that I used to use.

Le tube de protection devrait être fermé d'un côté afin de protéger le bout : le premier s'est cassé à cause d'un choc. A la réception du 2ème j'ai du bidouiller un truc pour que ça n'arrive plus !!!
