Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I have a lot of smart devices now in my house and my studio but I always find the LED light bulb too dim for my liking. That is until now, this Teckin light bulb is just what I needed.Set up is easy with the smart life app, once paired you can get Alexa skill to control the light bulb. Voice control to turn on and off, change colour RGB and also other mood lighting functions.Two version of fittings to choose from so make sure you get the right one or it will not fit your lamp fitting. Also the bulb has a wider than usual head, make sure your light shade or holder can accommodate the bulb.Other than that it is well made, no rattle and good built quality.

This light bulb is quite big so this may be a problem depending on your setting. It is quite powerful in terms of emitted light so many, including myself, may keep it at less than 100% brightness. The white (non-coloured) light is quite on the cold (bluish) side and I found myself decreasing the lower app slider (saturation I think it was called for this setting) in an attempt to get it as close to warm/yellow as possible. It makes it better but still on the bluish/very whitish side.The coloured light is quite paler on any colour but this is expected. The Smart Life app is good enough and apart from the white/coloured light settings (brightness and saturation, plus choice of colour) there are a few more options providing different pre-configured light-changing scenarios such as Reading, Night, etc. I find the Schedule function most helpful where you can set the light to turn on and off as preferred and this works well. No significant electric noise or humming that can be heard from my still limited use.On first switch-on the bulb will be flashing but if you physically turn it off, the next time it will start like a normal bulb with permanent light. So in order to synchronise with the app it will need to be turned on and off a few times (it is in the instructions provided). Pretty straightforward and easy process on the smartphone using your 2.4 GHz wifi (home/work) network only. I am still testing and may be wrong but from what I have seen this smart bulb can only be controlled from within the same wifi network and not if on another wifi or via mobile data connection for the app. The app simply states "the device is offline".Overall and for the purposes I bought it for, it is a great smart light bulb - especially for its brightness suitable even for bigger bedrooms and living room. The On-Off Schedule Smart Life function is also great and you can use your Alexa or Google Assistant devices if you have such. I own a few LED strips (5 and 10 metres long) and I find their RGB colour much better/true to life than this light bulb, however I refer to a big number of different LEDs and not a single source of light. For example, their green, or blue, or even red as a whole is intense, with this smart bulb it is more like a tint, still good enough. Considering that this is the only available smart bulb at this time I found of this brightness (most others are up to 9W) and its functions that actually work, I highly recommend it based on your own needs - definitely times better than both ordinary white light LEDs and many smart ones out there.

I like the Teckin bulbs but this SB53 Bulb is the best Teckin make it has the smoothest Dimming and the ability to adjust the white colour temp whilst being super bright no matter what white colour temp you go for.Plus of course it has bright RGB colours as well.using the Smart Life app it seamlessly integrates with Alexa as well ..you don't even have to run discovery one the light is set up in the app its ready for Alexa to use immediately.These SB53 bulbs are MUCH better than the SB50 bulbs ....I'm going to change all my SB50 bulbs for these SB53 bulbs.thoroughly recommended

UPDATE: NOW BOTH BULBS STARTED TO BLINK RANDOMLY, RESETTING THEM DIDN'T WORK, THE BLINK, GO OFF, NOT SHOW IN APP, THEN THEY DO, THE BLINKING GOT WORST AND BULB LIGHT DIMMED A LOT, BOTH ACTING STRANGELY, AFTER FOLLOWING FULL RESET , THEY BEHAVE SAME, SLIGHT HUM SOUND, SEEMS LIKE THEY BOTH GONE FAULTY, CHANGING 5 STAR REVIEW , TO 1, DUE TO FAULT IN BOTH AT SAME TIME, AND NOT EVEN BEEN 3 MONTHS YET, SHAME AS THEY SEEMED PRETTY GOOD TILL NOW,amazing bulbs, they really are bright on the white light,, great app to control with, connect straight away, app works perfectly, and the bulbs do the job perfectly, great colour combinations, and app has schedules you can set also for on and off, and dimming features are excellent, you can change the bright white light to warm colour and still brightens the room perfectly, other colours, are good for your moods and needs, absolutely perfect for the price too.

These are really cool. The white light is plenty bright enough to use in a traditional way, but the fun comes from messing about with the colours and the app that's free to download that you need to use to control them. (I'm using the Android version.) You can pick and change the colour each bulb is (individually), or use the app's range of colour patterns for a more varied show. It takes a few minutes to get the app to 'talk' to each bulb (and you really do need to use your wi-fi on 2.4GHz to do this), but once they're set up then they work fine. (I re-enabled my wi-fi's 5GHz afterwards and they still seem to work fine.) They're more pricy than normal bulbs, but if you like to use lighting for more than just illumination then I'd definitely recommend them. The fact that you can switch them on and off via the app is really very useful too and makes it more practical to put them in not so easy to get to places too. And it's great that they're low energy bulbs; I don't have to feel guilty about actually using them! I'm sure I'll buy more as and when my 'dumb' bulbs need replacing.
