This is perfect to keep brand new carpet staying that way with my dogs
This was recommended to me by the carpet sales guy. I have an exterior door to the outside that goes out to the backyard and pool. The only problem is there is carpet in front of it. Previously my dogs had gotten the carpet so dirty right at the door jam I was beside myself. I didn't want tile or hardwood/laminate in the room, so this didn't leave me many choices. Rugs will slip eventually and with 4 dogs, I want to pull all my hair out when it rains. When my new carpet was put down, before the dogs could get it dirty I went and placed this plastic sheeting right up to the door jam. I got the kind that was extra sturdy for stairs because of the dog's nails. I didn't want to take any chances that they could puncture it and get the carpet wet and dirty. So far it is working like a charm. The only problem I have found is that the directions say you can't have it down for more than 30 days. What I don't know is if I pull it up after 28 days, how long would I need to wait before placing more down. Or is it 30 days and never can you put it on the carpet again. I also don't know if it is going to leave any type of adhesive residue on the carpet. I'm praying that it won't. So, cross your fingers for me.I knew I had to try something new since everything I had tried in the past in front of this door has just missed the boat. So, it's one week in and I have left myself a reminder to remove the plastic on day 28. I will update this when I know more.

Can't Get This Stuff OFF
We got it down okay but now we can't get it OFF. The plastic is way too weak/thin and the glue is way too strong. The plastic just tears when trying to pull it off. We've been working at it for hours and pulled out a lot of carpet threads with it. I've used other carpet tape before and never had this kind of trouble trying to get it back off.SERIOUSLY, DON'T BUY THIS $#!T

NOOOOOO!!!
Unless you hate yourself and don't value your time AT ALL... do not buy this product! It's so sticky that it's next to impossible to pick it apart & start the roll. And once you do... you might just end up with gigantic tape balls because it won't unroll without sticking to itself. I was able to salvage about (6) 8ft. strips from (2) 50ft. rolls. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

Good for berber carpets, not good for plush carpets
We don’t wear shoes in our house and especially during these covid times we were not letting outsiders inside the house..UNTIL we had a bad bad leak that needed an outside plumber to fix smh. This carpet protector, along with shoe covers helped keep our carpet clean, and free from outside contaminants from the plumbers shoes. It’s not slippery, took me literally less than 15 mins to trail the areas of the carpet that needed to be covered. I’m not sure why people are complaining about it sticking to itself? It’s literally like a big roll of tape, one side has adhesive the other side does not. If you can use tape you can easily use this carpet film. We have a berber (non plush) carpet so it was easy putting it on and taking it off. I will say that if you have a plush or fur or wool like carpet- this won’t work for those types of carpet.

Great buy!!
I am so glad I bought this before my move. I paid extra to have the carpet replaced (instead of just shampood) before my move-in.Then I hired movers, and couldn't expect them to remove their shoes upon each trip inside, plus the wheels of their dollies had to go through a little part of the parking lot and then through the grass/soil for a portion of their path from the truck to my door...and then across my brand new lovely carpeting.I was paying them by the hour, And on a tight budget, so there was no time to be particular about where they set down the boxes and furniture. The show just had to go on.This product promised that it would be durable, and Also Not damaging to carpet for up to 30 days.I work full time, so I literally set an Alarm to remind myself to remove it by day 29. Which was today. It held strong for all 29 days, and was so easy to remove I almost couldn't believe it because of how strongly it adhered throughout 29 days of walking across it and moving/scooting boxes and furniture to their rightful places! My carpet looks like it was just installed Moments ago. It is still in pristine condition with Zero "high-traffic area" wear & tear.I will Never move again without a few rolls of this on hand.To add: I was running behind, and sweating my a** off on the morning of my move-in, and only had about a half hour to hurry and place this plastic down Before the movers got here with my stuff. I didn't have Anything, because..of course, all my belongings were in the moving truck, so I had to act swiftly and improvise. I used my crappy pocket knife that's attached to my key chain to cut it at the end of each wall. And, it miraculously worked out just well enough to get it done.It was easier than expected to 'install'/apply it. And it did its job, times a million.I don't know if I've ever recommended a product this passionately before. It REALLY is THAT awesome. 10/10

Just excellent
This is some awesome clear tape as i call it lol. I used it to wrap my floor because i dont like dirry carpet. It has a sound to it when you walk on it, but it fades away. It is very sturdy, the perfect material that i was seeking, goes down pretty easy, can unstick with no problem, cuts like Xmas paper and picks lay & lay right back down with no residue. It lays down pretty smoothly.. If you overlap it you might get a bubble, just pop it and u won't see it. I have plenty left to use for painting. So far its excellent. Update: Mar 4th, ny friend wanted sone so i ordered another roll.

Good product. Not easy to use.
Ok I bought this not for the intended purpose. It is a little awkward to use unless I guess you have the roller. I used it in my car to protect the carpet as I work to cut a hole to get to my fuel pump. As you can see from the photo I'm a little protective of my car. Lol I bought the wrong width to be honest. It does what it implies it will. If you are using it for actual carpet in a house or wherever buy the tool or make one with some pvc. Once it sticks to.itself it sticks! My hope is the rest of the ad is true that as long as I remove it within 30 days there will be no residue! In addition to the carpet tape I used a drop cloth type material I found here on Amazon. this tape is not for anything but carpet I would head that warning in the ad.

Amazing for CAR CARPET
Exactly as described. Am using this to protect my car carpet over a very wet and salty Canadian winter.

Proceed with caution!
The product was so sticky it was such a challenge to apply, now post reno (14 days) we can’t get it off of the carpet. We are literally having to lay down and peal inch by inch. It’s ridiculous.

Not so good as a multi-purpose wide tape
I use the carpet film for packing, repairing storage tarps and other things, like a multi purpose super wide tape. It is very useful. However the problem with this roll is that it is reverse wound with the sticky side out. I did not see that there was any indication of this before I bought it. So for protecting carpets I guess this is a better way to have it but for my purposes it is a pain.

Not as described
This is an ok product, an adhesive film that will protect fabric, but it is not thick or durable! I purchased this to protect the carpets in my vehicle, it will not last.
