Q: Will this work for the Astro 40's? They're the same size as the 50...... please explain

I don't know for sure, but I will tell you that the three previous versions all had the same basic frame. In that the ear cups will twists in One Direction so that you can fold it up and put it into the slot provided in the hard case. There's no way to be 100% sure, but I have Gen 3's and looking at the Gen 4's, the only thing I would worry about is if they've changed the size of the base station. It looks like it might be a little smaller. But then it should fit in the larger base station slot inside the hard case.

No, it’s shaped completely different. It would probably break the headset/ jam the buttons on the side. I don’t know why you even asked this.

No. The slot provided for the base station, the part that everything plugs into and charges the headphones, is quite a different shape then the earlier version. It is narrower but deeper, and maybe taller as well. I don't know if the case pictures show it, but one side holds the headphones, the other side holds the base station and a spot for the cords. They could easily remake the shape to accommodate the new version, but it won't fit into this case right now.
