I purchased these ice packs as a second set. I have another rectangular ice pack by the same company and have always loved using it. But sometimes if I fall asleep with it, and it is no longer cold, I wanted to have a second one in the freezer all ready to use right away. I love being able to slip the ice pack inside a pillowcase or wrap a thin towel around it and place it on my achy hips when I go to bed and not have to worry about getting frostbite if I fall asleep. The gel inside warms from your body heat and prevents frostbite. They work well and are nice and cold for roughly 20 minutes before they start warming up from your body heat which is the length of time your doctor or PT will tell you use it for. So, I have found these to be ideal!I bought the 2-pack ice pack which also has a smaller strip that wraps around a shoulder or knee and fits the contour. I thought it would eventually come in handy, and I know it will, but to date I have not needed to use this one. I think it will work great though!The quality of the cover on the ice pack is nice and durable. I have never had one puncture or get damaged. Highly recommended!

As a physical therapist of 30ish years, I have a lot of experience with Col-Pac and alternative brands for both clinic and home use. I have not found any brand that holds up as long, or that is as sturdy as the BLACK Col-Pac brand. I now only purchase this brand for both home and clinic use. - A tip that is given by Chattanooga manufacturer (and which I 100% echo) is that they should be stored flat, to preserve their longevity (otherwise the seams risk splitting open at the bends, and the “goo” inside leaks out”. - My own tip for storing in a HOME freezer for occassional use (where other food is stored) is to place them (rolled) inside of their zip case that they come with - OR a zip bag of some sort - OR wrapped in a towel that can be discarded when you pull it out of the freezer. This way they don’t collect the “stinky” freezer smell and transmit it to the user. (Using stinky/smelly items when someone is already overwhelmed with pain, can significantly overstimulate some people).

I bought this for some pain management and it didn’t really help me though I don’t think this is the product’s fault. It gets nice and cold and works as advertised.

I live with chronic pain and constantly use ice to help relieve it. I have tried all sorts of different ice packs, but found that they melted quickly or did not provide penetrating coldness.I actually found these ice packs from going to physical therapy.
