Originally gave 3* but happily updated to 5* (because 6 stars isn’t an option!)

The product has a sleek and sturdy design, and installation was a breeze — both the WOLFBOX screen over my original mirror and the reverse camera setup were straightforward. However, after about four months of use, the device began to restart randomly every 3–5 minutes. I tried troubleshooting extensively — first using the direct fuse box power feed (sold separately and installed per the instructions), then switching to the original cigarette lighter power cable that came with the kit. Unfortunately, the issue persisted. Since the problem started after the warranty period had expired (I thought it was 3 months), I was left trying to resolve it myself by potentially opening the unit.UPDATE – 30/06/2025:I’m now thrilled to upgrade my rating from 3 stars to 5 — and honestly, I’d give 6 if I could — all thanks to the outstanding customer service from WOLFBOX. After I posted my original review, their team reached out to me immediately and offered full support. They guided me through several diagnostic steps to determine whether the problem was with the accessories or the screen itself. Once I reported back, they generously offered to send me a brand-new unit!A special thank you to Aila, who provided exceptional support throughout the process. Her responsiveness and professionalism truly made all the difference.

Very feature packed and works well

I'm really happy with this so far. This will be an essay because i wanted a lot out of this. I want you to have an easier time than I did in the maddening search for a dash cam with a decent 24hour security monitoring feature. As a dash cam it's pretty much perfect. Picture quality is brilliant. I got it mostly for the time lapse security feature, after extensive research across all of the Wolfbox cameras available from the seller on amazon i picked this one. I chose it because i felt the mirror mounted aspect of it was subtle and it wouldn't attract thieves etc because it didn't appear to be an expensive dash cam. I also didn't want the person i suspect is keying my car to notice there were cameras present.I was looking for a 24 hour parking mode/monitor and this delivers on that, the others all were described as responding to motion. I tried mini cams with this function and found that through a car window infrared motion detection will not trigger. So i suspect that wouldn't have worked for me. Also the others were described as only recording with the front cam in this mode. This camera records time lapse footage 24 hours from when you exit/power down your car. You need to have it hardwired in to the car for this to work, which I did, I had done by a professional which looked like a nightmare to do frankly more because of the robust nature of my car and its panels than anything though. Also it's important to add it will ONLY record for 24 hours and then will cease so as not to deplete to your cars battery. So if like me you wanted this for surveillance then you need to check on your car and turn it on each day. Make sure you remember when you checked it last so as not to miss any potential vandalism etc.It will record a time lapse video which you can set, i used 0.5 seconds myself and will FRONT and BACK record for 24 hours. The dash cam starts recording automatically when you drive. I don't use the reverse parking cam because mine is mounted inside the car and not externally, but with the clarity of both cameras i'm sure it would be really awesome for that. If you had it installed in the bumper like a smart person.I'm really happy with this so far. I got the Wolfbox hardwiring kit, i'd recommend hardwiring it because you can't use the time lapse parking mode without that. I did this because some POS has vandalised my car. One thing i'd say in regards to time lapse/parking mode is that it's not perfect, there are areas out of view on either side of the car and if the weather is bad, rain etc and your mirrors mist up then it's probably not going to be much good at these times.Another positive aspect is that it's really pretty subtle, i think people would have to really know what they were looking for to spot this in your car, especially at night, assuming it's hard wired in nicely without visible wires. There were others available designed for right hand drive cars as we have in the U.K but i got this one as it had the most features and best suited my needs. I'm not finding the camera being on the left side a problem at all to be honest. It's wide angle enough it would catch goings on without being perfectly aligned or close to the drivers perspective or whatever. So if you want this and are thinking it's not the UK version and unsuitable, i'd say don't worry about that.I don't really pay any attention what so ever to the GPS tracker but that seems to work just fine. It's actually pretty easy to navigate the menu and logical, it's been quite fun looking at what happens when i'm not around. It's nice having the wide display and being able to review the footage, be that dash cam or parking monitor footage. I think if something happened and you wanted to see it it might be easier to do on a PC though.I was also worried it wouldn't be good as a regular mirror, it did seem kind of dark to me at first but now i don't think i'd want to go back to my regular rear view mirror. It works well as a standard mirror and the darkness of it reduces glare while allowing you to see everything. If anything it's a better rear view mirror because it's wider than any i've ever seen on a U.K vehicle. So it's a good mirror on its own without even being plugged in etc.

Great, but could've been better

Dashcams. Nowadays, especially in the UK, these devices are becoming more and more important, with more and more people (and less and less police) on the roads. Insurances give discounts for them and they help cover you in the event of an accident, so purchasing the right one is paramount to protecting your car.At the time of writing this review, the camera costed ~£125 which is on the lower end of what it's been priced, having originally been up to ~£200. This may be because Wolfbox are now offering newer models with more up-to-date features. So firstly, setting up. What Wolfbox doesn't tell you is to have the reverse camera functionality, you need a volt meter. I'm not too fussed about this, and to this date I can't review this part of the camera as I haven't used it.Besides that, setting up is relatively easy. I drive a 2004 Toyota Yaris and the trim puller provided is very useful and makes tucking the wires away easy. If you're unsure, you can always google your car and someone will have worked out the best way to route wires, but in a lot of cars the headliner trim will just pull out / trim clip out.The front main camera simply clips over your current wing mirror, which is clever. It looks a bit strange though, but that doesn't bother me. Wolfbox actually do sell bespoke mounts, which I think is a bit cheeky to not include it in the mirror (more on that a bit later on).Keep in mind that if you want to set up the rear camera outside you're going to need to find a way to route the cable from the inside to the outside. This will differ car by car and this took by far the longest time to set up, so just be aware. Alternatively you can just set it up inside which will be easier.Overall, setting up didn't take too long. Best done with two people if you can though; made it much easier. The quality is good. The unit feels and looks solid, and it's a nice looking product. I can see the lens of the cameras are high quality, and this is reflected in the picture quality, which is fantastic and where this unit excels.Despite being just 1080p at the back, the colours are really well balanced on both sides. The angles are really good, especially in two-view mode, and you can see registration plates, in poor lighting, whilst cars are moving. Legitimately impressive. The camera at the front is also good quality but seems to struggle a bit more in low light.I will add that I've installed the rear camera on the outside which has made a huge difference, as my rear window is tinted, so to get the next picture you may need to persevere routing it outside.Against what the manual says, I found the best place to route the camera is high up pointing very slightly downwards. The attached hinge makes adjustments a doddle, too, and the front lens has plenty of play (although they could've motorised the front lens: physically moving it about feels a bit primitive and I'm wary of smudging the actual lens). The GPS functionality seems to work just fine, both directions and speed. The user interface is easy to use, and is touchscreen.Wolfbox supply you with an aftermarket program to view your footage and, although simple, does the job rather well. Downloading it was a faff though as the website in the book wasn't valid any more. (Just Google "Wolfbox software eu").So why haven't I rated it 5*?Well:- The accessories could do with updating. Included is a USB C-type (to input the camera - good) connected to a cigarette adapter. This is a bit frustrating, as I'm already using the adapter socket for bluetooth, so why they didn't just include a long USB C to USB A cable is beyond me, especially if you're paying nearly 200 quid.- Screen glare. Especially in bright conditions, it can be really distracting and makes going from a simple mirror to a screen much more difficult. Hilariously, Wolfbox sell an anti-glare sticker for £6 on their website. Just makes you think why they wouldn't chuck it in the accessories box? Or why it hasn't got an anti-glare film on the product already. Odd, and somewhat greedy in my humble opinion. So far, I've been pleased with the quality of the product. I've heard that Wolfbox are good with their customer service (though I have no firsthand experience - thankfully). The dashcam has only been installed for one day as of this review, so time will tell if it lasts. Hopefully it will.Make sure you buy a long USB-C to A if your cigarette socket is used up, and it's definitely worth buying an anti-glare sticker (one thing I will update once mine arrives).
