A wonderful story about love, loss and the comfort of happy memories. Children and their adults will love it. The illustrations are wonderful and bring Jack and Bear to life.

I first heard about this book from a newspaper article which was inspired by a true story of a little boy who lost his teddy bear and was not found. The illustrator contacted his family for research for a children's book and wrote the story herself. I bought it for my 6 year old nephew who likes teddy bears.

First off, the author is a fellow "Derry Girl",and so is ahead of the game as it is played. But, to be honest,it is her talent, not only as far as illustration goes, but the ability to create and savor such innocence, to bring such life, to instill such beautiful values, and quite frankly, the ability to RUIN MY MASCARA ( cutting onions, I swear)that amazes me. A new, beautiful heartwarming story of our wee Bear, that wlil no doubt, become a staple among youngsters everywhere. Just a beautiful book through and through, if ya don't believe me, pick one up, I dare you to say your "smalls" won't love it too.!!!😍

I was aware of this book through seeing posts on instagram, and knew it would be a great book. It's a beautiful story, and is beautifully illustrated. How the book came about is heartwarming, but is also a sad story, which Dawn has managed to turn around into a happy one. This book is a great story about loss, and about how to process loss, and that's why I bought the book ... irrespective of the age of the reader, it will be a great resource to help people process personal loss.I love the book and I'm sure will get much use out of it.

This beautifully illustrated book works on so many levels, about a little lad with autism coping with the loss of his way of communicating, his security blanket in the form of his beloved bear and finding a way through this big change by thinking of others, or it's a book for children to understand loss and empathy or just a great story about a little boy, his bear and his brilliant way of turning a negative into a positive. Ultimately, it's a lovely story, visually stunning with so much heart. An instant classic!

This book absolutely blew me away. The art work is first rate but the story is really the special part. It is a beautiful tale that'll get you 'right in the feels' as the kids say. It is such a sweet way to explain to a child about the nature of loss while giving a wonderfully positive message too. Highly recommended.

Just bought this book for my children and could barely get through it from crying! It’s a beautiful story and the illustrations are stunning. An absolute must-have for any young library!
