Great for Unraid/TrueNAS Builds

PROS -1. 4U mid depth unit (17"), perfect for homelab builds where you can't place a full 24" deep server in your closet2. Good layout for Storage/NAS builds (but see caveats below)3. Almost all parts are screwed on insted of riveted on, meaning it's easy to remove sections for modding etc. - motherboard tray comes out, all panels can be removed easily.4. No sharp edges, good quality stamped pieces and Zinc plating seems to be very smooth and good quality - it does not have that signature 'feathery' texture cheap zinc-plating has. Chassis shows very little flex that goes away completely once you put the lid back on.5. Theoretically can accomodate fourteen 3.5" hard drives, two 2.5" hard drives, and a Slim (12.7mm) Optical Disk Drive (5x each in the 2 5.25" bays, 4x in the center internal bay, 2 SSD's under the drive cages, and one ODD or SSD in an adapter) - If you want to go completely insane and build an all-SSD ZFS monster fileserver, you could in theory fill this thing with up with Fifty-eight(!) 2.5" Solid-State Drives.6. Fits Larger CPU coolers of up to 148mm height, I'm rocking a classic Zalman CNPS9500 and it fits great (what a nice cooler, btw)7. Drive cages have rubber grommets and install very securely onto the chassis, almost no plastic parts to be found on this chassis - all metal build!CONS -1. Some limitation on how you can fill up the 3x5.25 drive bays, the short depth of 17" that makes it easy to install in a home closet also means there will be interference issues with most ATX/mATX motherboards and Hot-swap Drive cages, especially those with SATA ports facing horizontally. I ended up keeping the bottom left 5.25 bay empty because the SATA cabling got in the way of the 5x3.5" HDD hot-swap cage I was using. I transplanted it to the right side and installed my 6x2.5" SSD drive cages in the left side, becasue those cages are generally shorter in depth. If you are building a pure storage machine, an ITX motherboard will let you maximize internal volume for storage devices, and you'll probably be able to put in 5x3.5" HDD hotswap bays in both left and right cages. This is going to be a problem with any short-mid depth case, so not a surprise really.2. The Slim ODD bay seems like an afterthought, as are the 2x2.5 drive bays on each side under the 3x5.25 cages. They are perfectly usable, but it's not going to be easy to service any drives you install there, as you'll have to remove all 3 included drive cages to get to these 'secret' ones. I guess hot-swap bays exist for a reason, after all.3. This is not the case to build your mining rig in (as if anyone is still mining in 2022) - it should not be a surprise since it is clearly a mid-depth case so your triple-fan RTX 3090 will probably not fit. The Thermal design is also not conducive to high airflow, with just 3x 80mm fan slots - This has implications for those looking to build a machine with transcoding and VM passthough capabilities, and want to put a GPU in there for those purposes - you'll need a bigger case.

it wasn't 19 inch. it is 17 inch by 17 inch square.

Easy Peasy

I have 2 of this chassis and its an absolute peach to build in as long as you don't need to put a relatively modern GPU in it... the depth of the chassis can't quite handle anything too much larger than a full ATX motherboard. You can put a cooler up to 148mm tall in it which gives you a lot of options. I run Thermalright coolers in both of mine and they fit with no issues just check height specs before buying a cooler.

Outdated and low airflow.

Don’t buy this unless you are using something that doesn’t kick off any heat. Getting any into the unit was a huge pain in the rear. It only had slots for 3 80mm fans. I ended up bolting 2 120mm fans into the drive bays. It ruins the look but the seller has a strict return policy that makes it pretty much not worth returning. For a rack mounted unit, the lack of airflow is appalling. 0/10 do not buy.

Best Rack mount PC enclosure I have ever used.

I really like the design of this rackmount cabinet. It is roomy on the inside and very professional looking on the front panel. There is plenty of ventilation and it was easy to install the system board and drives.
