Not perfect but works, I am impressed with the quality
Hello all,I just installed this Carr light bar a few days ago on my 95 Dodge 2500 4x4 and I am pretty happy with it. I would like to forewarn anyone considering buying this item that you are required to cut the bar to length, they ALL come in a standard 56". Another review said he had to wield and so forth due to cutting it and I don't know what he did wrong but there's no need to wield anything. I measured from each side and took half off of each end (3" inches too long, cut 1.5" off each side to keep center) and mounted it up with no problem. I have 4 kc daylighters mounted on this rail. I wasn't expecting the bar to be near as solid as it is, when I took it out of the box I was expecting a cheap flimsy sort of thing...boy was I wrong. This bar is perfect for what I do, my family has land and I use this as a farm truck...always pulling and playing. I love tearing threw the woods at night with this set up looking to round something up, I already have 2 offroad lights on the bumper so the combo really lights up the night. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who can use power tools/doesn't have any unless you know someone who can help you out. The remaining parts are put together with simple tools like....screw driver, allen wrench (included), and 1/2" wrench. Light wiring is easy to hide inside the bar's channel too. So, if you're looking for a decent light bar well here you go. Oh and another thing, this will ONLY hold five 6" offroad lights. has holes for 7 BUT they will not all fit. I had 3 sets and ended up returning one set and just using the 4 since I bought em in 2 packs. Works well with the Carr gutterless mount, please read my review on it as well. Thanks!

Doesn't fit 2000-2006 chevy silverado
Lip style mounting does not work on the roof of any gm 1500 or 2500 truck from years 1999.5-2006 even though Amazon says it does fit.

Heavy duty light bar for multiple applications.
So I have owned this for a number of years now and it is awesome. It has been on two vehicles both of different size. The nice thing is with a bit of welding and painting this can be custom fitted to just about any application. (welding and painting only required if you have already cut it to pieces otherwise its perfect out of the box). Solid and sturdy, its one of the nicest light brackets i have owned. Plenty of room in the inner frame to tuck all the wires out of the way, leaving it looking very clean.

Required additional purchase of adapter for 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
well made, powder coat was excellent. It's not clear that the bar requires an adapter. I think almost all cars with smooth seams (without rain channel/gutter) will need the adapter. Had to call the manufacture after the bar arrived to confirm and was quoted a price which I later beat on amazon.com by 1/3. When the adapter arrived, the instructions included drilling eight 1/8" holes to mount the adapter into the area behind the weather stripping to attach the adapter. This was easily done, but some folks really object to drilling holes into a car. Now mounted, It looks great. The bar is well made, the marketing approach is unprofessional.

Very nice product, however noticed the clamps that grip the gutters don't tighten very snug, even when bolts are tightened extremely.

Has held up to the elements.
Despite my hacksaw trimming, I have not seen any rust on this bar, and it has held up to several nights of Portland thieves trying to yank it off. I installed in on a 1998 4Runner with their brackets for that vehicle and had to trim about 2 inches off of each side.

This does not fit the 1997 F-150
This does not fit the 1997 F-150 as advertised. Not even close. Wrong angle and I'd have to cut about 6 inches off. Looks well made but completely useless too me if it doesn't fit.

Follow ALL Directions!
Installation was very straightforward. One item will remain left to do after the initial installation: Re-tighten the screws after a week or two! This is important to do, as the rubber cushions will slightly deform after a week or so, leaving the brackets slightly loose.
