Ordered this exact replacement for one that started leaking under our sink. Watched one YouTube video about how to replace it. It took just a few minutes and basically saved me a $300 plumbing bill and a bunch of hassle coordinating and waiting.The only thing I had trouble with was that the previous plumber put PVC glue on the tailpiece that formed the junction with the disposal. You might want to pick one of those up in case you run into the same thing.Also, a little squirt of WD40 will make removing the old one easier and make locking the new one in place less intense.Read the directions before starting. The disposal will turn to align with the pipes even after your put it in place; then you lock it down by giving the collar a turn with the included hex wrench. Very easy once you realize how it works.

Easy to install as we had an existing, 8 year old Badger disposal and didn't have to remove the top attachment parts (i.e., the sink hole cover and connector), and with pvc piping, no need for plumber's tape. Definitely watch YouTube how-to's for great tips and tricks. As others have said, if you connect to a dishwasher, don't forget to punch out the connector cover, super-easy with a hammer and screwdriver. All in all, we are keyboard warriors, definitely not plumbers or professional handymen, so if we could do this, anyone can!

The unit fits and works perfectly. An exact replacement for the old broken unit. The only thing missing from the box was the hex tool for attaching the unit to the sink, and for clearing jams. This was no problem, as I have a hex set, and anyway, I always use a screwdriver for tightening the unit down to the sink. I have always been satisified with Amazon refurbished products, and have never received anything that does not operate perfectly. If you havent checked before, check out Amazon Resale. Purchased this to replace an old disposal. This is The Badger 1 replacement or new install. Great thing is it comes with the power cord installed. You can detach it if necessary. This made for a literal plug and play install for a previous unit. It runs quieter and fit the original slip lock mount. My original unit was 7 + yrs old. Great purchase.

Quieter than Waste King.Do not buy if you are HARDWIRED (aka no plug into wall). Buy the one without the plug and save a ton of time trying to remove it.The plug is extremely hard to remove and must be taken a part to run an existing wall wiring to it. My bad for not buying the correct one, but they do not seem to be that common and are more expensive.Overall installation was easy.

This disposal was easy to install and works well. This is my second Insinkerator, and my first one lasted 13 years. Would recommend!

I bought this to replace an InSinkerator Badger 1 waste disposal we had for more than 11 years, it was well used and the motor would still run but developed a leak somewhere. The look, build and connections points/holes were exactly the same which made DIY installation very easy, just a drop and replace. Based on my old waste disposal, this is a very reliable and sturdy product. I hope it last the same time or even more.
