The Flex Timer app can integrate with any heart rate monitor that supports the bluetooth heart rate profile. This open standard allows any app to integrate with any heart rate monitor without tying you in to a vendor specific application. Unfortunately, some companies do not follow this standard and instead use a proprietary protocol so that only their apps or their approved partner's apps can integrate with their technology. The following cheststrap heart rate monitors will work with the Flex Timer: Wahoo Fitness - Tickr Polar - H7 Coospo - H8 Kurtkinetic - Bluetooth Smart Heartrate Strap The following wristband/armband heart rate monitors will work with the Flex Timer: Mio Global - Link Scosche - Rhythm+

Q: While using the app, does it disable the phone's "sleep" or lock mode? If not does the app still function while phone is locked?

The app is used to program and initiate the external timer. Once you have started the timer, the phone is no longer necessary and can be disconnected, put to sleep or locked. The timer will continue to run even if the phone is locked or sleeps.

Q: Is it android compatible?

Yes. It works with both Android and iOS devices that have Bluetooth Low Energy (which is most modern devices).

Q: does the timer count both up and down?

Yes, it has standard, round, interval, tabata , EMOM, timer and some customizable options.
