Easy to use, makes beautiful seals!
Will never go back to the wick-style sealing wax, this is SO much easier and more fun to use! What you have to think about with the wicks is that they have to burn proportionately to the wax, and they don't. The flames keep going out. They blacken the wax in places. The wax drips onto the paper and starts to harden long before you've melted enough wax to make a seal. Whereas with these meltables, you melt the wax (we found 2 beads perfect for one seal) in the metal spoon given, and only drop it onto your paper when all the wax is soft. The seals come out beautifully, and not at all burned. My kids actually love using the sealing wax now that we use these beads, whereas they found the wick method too cumbersome.

Top-notch quality flexible wax (wax seals on envelopes won't break during shipping), well-crafted melting spoon, classy gold hue
Aside from the cute packaging, this little bundle is an answered prayer for any calligrapher who needs to have a reliable set of wax granules for his/her calligraphy mail art. I've shipped domestic and international mail using this sealing wax so I can claim that my experiences showed that the wax is made of flexible wax. Meaning, the seal on the envelope will not crack or break during shipping/transit. I've also been using these gold wax granules to create place cards or escort cards.Typical yield when I am making wax seals would be 3 beads = 2 seals. I did a test wherein I used one bead to create a seal and I didn't get proper consistency. So I recommend melting three beads at a time if you have a long list of wax seals to produce. The melting spoon that came with this bundle is well-crafted. If it's designed for heavy-duty use? Well, every user is different. It's not your typical "for industrial/commercial use" wax melting spoon but I've been using it almost every day. DO NOT keep burning it for a long time. After the spoon has cooled off, it can be cleaned with a paper towel or a tissue paper. Then store it somewhere it won't easily catch dust so it's ready to use for next time.Overall, I absolutely loved my experience with this set that I am looking at purchasing another one and probably more wax beads. It makes wax seal production so much easier! Much better than melting wax sticks directly over fire and using wax beads means no scorch marks and ash. Of course, the tea lights helped a great deal!P.S. The Gold wax bead color features a classic and classy gold hue. Not overwhelmingly metallic and definitely has that vintage sophistication vibe in a subdued, romantic way.

The spoon is a piece of junk, but the rest is good!
I bought this set for the purple wax, and the fact that it wasn't one of the stick types that are basically a handheld candle. (The purple matches the color of my direct sales company.) It melts beautifully and quickly. The underside of the spoon turned black with the first use (expected) but washing it didn't remove the marks from burning (unexpected). The handle also got really warm, really fast. There really should be some sort of silicone or something on the handle as insulation. That's probably not an issue if you're creating a couple of wax seals, but I prepare mine in bulk so I can use them like stickers as I need them. After 2 seals I needed to keep swapping hands because it was getting too hot for me to hold. Still, I'd buy this set again just for the wax.

It caught on fire!
The little star shaped wax pellets were packaged cutesy in a cute little glass bottle with a cork top, but when I heated them in my sealing wax spoon the wax CAUGHT FIRE and when I poured it onto my paper it was boiling!I heated he wax carefully while holding the spoon in my hand. Then in an instant the wax was on fire. It's perfect for keeping in a jar and never allowing near heat, but not for melting to use as sealing wax.

Not best choice for very Lg projects
I bought this item to seal 200 wedding invitations. The seals looked great and added an awesome touch. The packaging is super cute too.In retrospect, I would never recommend using this type of wax for such a huge project. I'd incorrectly assumed that I could throw some in a wax warmer and just scoop it out. Definitely not. They require higher heat than that to melt and we literally had to melt 200 individual spoonfuls over an open flame. 😨For a large project I'd recommend the sticks that can go in a hot glue gun. Each one of our seals required 1.5 little wax piece. So I needed 3 jars for 200 seals.
