The product is great and would work perfectly if it actually fit on my computer, the fan pulls a lot of air despite being tiny and quiet.There were two issues with my installation, both were my own fault for not checking beforehand though.-ONE is my charger port is too close to the exhaust vent, so I can't plug in my laptop and use this at the same time. Fortunately, the sellers understood my problem and very quickly issued a refund, something I was very pleased about.-TWO is there is an exhaust port on the bottom of my laptop as well, which was blocked by either mounting piece that came with this (both the plastic and metal were big enough to cover it entirely)All in all, great product, but do extra measurements before you buy! Don't just check for the three things they outline on the product page; you also need to check for things such as:-How close is your charger to the exhaust vent?-Are there exhaust vents on the bottom of your device?

A few years ago I bought a nice gaming laptop. For the first time in my life I was turning graphics UP, rather than cranking them all the way down so they would be playable. Over the years, the laptop began slowing down... frame-rate drops at first, and finally games would slow down so much that they were completely unplayable.Since my laptop was getting hotter than the surface of the sun, I suspected heat was to blame. I bought all kinds of products - a lap desk with fans, I made sure the fans were dusted out and working, the works. I downloaded software which would allow me to throttle certain functions of the laptop to reduce heat... but then it was a race between how much the software was throttling my laptop and how much the heat was causing it to throttle itself. There were some games I gave up playing entirely, simply because they played so slow it wasn't worth it.One day, I happened to see the Klim Tempest on Amazon. Very cheap - only $30, and claimed to be universal fit. I figured, what the heck.. let's try it.And now, my laptop runs... almost like new.The Klim Tempest is a miracle device. Rather than lap desks which simply blow little puffs of air at the bottom of your PC, the Klim Tempest attaches to the exhaust ports of your laptop and literally SUCKS the hot air out and shoots it out the back. I have no clue where the less than exemplary reviews I see are getting their experiences - some say the fan isn't very powerful? Maybe you're just installing or using it wrong? When I hook up my Tempest, I can put my hand over the back of it and feel it jetting out hot air.Games that used to heat my PC up to the point that I almost couldn't touch the metal surfaces... now my laptop maintains temperature and performs as it should. No more burning hot laptop.. just high-end performance. I can once again play my favorite games - games that would overheat and slow my laptop to a crawl within minutes.The Klim is quiet and powerful. You can hear it spool up when the laptop is heating up, but trust me, if you're playing games, the sound effects will WELL overpower the sound of the Tempest - you won't hear it. You'll forget it's there.The mounting mechanism is a bit awkward. I have to be honest, I wish there were a better hook-up.. but the designers were trying to make it as universal as possible, and on that front I feel they did a good job. It might take you a few minutes or a few tries to find out what works best for you, but I've found a way of setting it up where it doesn't slip off all the time, so I'm good. Maybe in the future there will be better mounting mechanisms. Four stars out of five for being a good balance between working and usable on all laptops.It functions EXACTLY as it should. You can download software to monitor your laptop's heat level, and download software to run a stress test - give it a try: hook up the Klim Tempest CORRECTLY, (meaning make sure the seal gaskets are closing off that exhaust port and the hot air will be going exclusively into the Tempest), run a stress test to build up heat, and watch the little device work its magic.I could not be more impressed. If you find your laptop getting extremely hot and performance degrading significantly, THIS DEVICE MAY BE THE ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PROBLEMS. I can't guarantee that (you might have other issues) But for $30 how can you go wrong!? I can FINALLY play my games again, so I'm so happy.I sent the designers a kind note to let them know how much I appreciate it. They wrote back thrilled to hear that I was happy, and were even asking what kind of games I play - these are people who are not only developing an amazing product, but care about their customers.100% satisfied, would have paid twice or three times the price for the difference it has made. Absolutely amazing and so glad I gave it a try.

The media could not be loaded. I just got a second one for the right side of my ASUS ZenBook Duo because this model fits perfectly and works incredibly well with my laptop. The performance is great, and it complements the dual-screen setup nicely. The only downside is the attachment mechanism, it didn’t hold up for long, and I had to find an alternative way to secure it properly, especially since the laptop lifts when it opens. Still, overall, it’s a solid choice.

great for laptops during charging from less then 50% charge. keeps the battery cool so the battery can charge faster and reduce overall wear and tear on the system. I like it. easy to stow in my backpack and take to campus as well. glad I bought it.

I had an overheating problem from hell. My ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX516PR would get so hot (primarily the motherboard which is odd), I tried everything including re-pasting (which BTW dropped the CPU temps by 10 to 12 degrees, but the GPU only about 4 ). My motherboard would get up above 90 degrees and the laptop was prone to sudden shutdown with no log indicating cause. I purchased 2 of these as my laptop actually has 4 exhausts and seeing how other attempts made little improvement, I would effectively rather have 2 then be faced with buying another laptop and shelling out well over a thousand dollars.The short is that one brought my GPU down about 4 to 5 degrees C and the 2nd yet another 4 to 5 degrees. My GPU is now setting comfortably around 62 C. (before paste 90+ after paste mid 80's), and most important my motherboard is sitting around 75C. which granted is high, but this is at peak load with a high graphics game and my anti virus running full boar .. ie. this should be as high as it gets. I'm very hopeful than I have seen the last of sudden shutdown while intense graphics are displayed.As for the how to install mount .. I just can't find anything of any value. The silver plate you set back past the round center clip then slowly pull it to the front and you'll hear it click. Choose the best size of rubber vent adapter to the size on your laptop. slide it underneath as best you can and that's really about it. They provide some side locks that swing out and grip, they're OK at best, and a bunch of 2 sided foam tape, you might find better seal. But mine is working well without full / tight seal. I held it close by hand for a while and really didn't see a huge benefit. PS, my multi fan platform sitting underneath the laptop isn't doing much at all .. maybe 1 C of cooling. Getting rid of it and just using these vacuum types. maybe a small platform for better airflow underneath. Hope this helps, best of luck.VENDOR CREATE SOME INSTALL TIPS VIDEOS! ... for goodness sakes!
