L'ho acquistato per un regalo ed è stato molto gradito. Ha delle foto bellissime, peccato per il formato: è un po' piccolo, del resto se fosse stato più grande avrebbe avuto un altro costo.

A very well written book. But in my opinion, it falls just a little short. And I will entertain that it could be what my expectations were.Ikebana, is a very ancient art form that has been practiced in Japan, for centuries. There are many definite rules as to the placement of flowers, and other flora, as well as to the containers that are used. The authors do say up front that they really had done little studying of the art when they started. In my opinion, you have to have a pretty good understanding of the rules of something, before you start bending those rules. I will give the authors credit in that they do give a bibliography of other books for further information.Some of the plant materials the authors use might be a little hard to obtain outside of the floral industry, and very honestly, except for a very high end shop, would be hard to get even in the industry. Although you could very easily substitute other more easily obtained products. For example, in one arrangement the authors use pea shoots. That is not a commonly available product. And very few people actually grow peas in their own gardens. However many people have flowering sweet peas in their gardens, so you could substitute those without changing the design all that much. Also though the authors do give instructions for each arrangement, I would have liked it to have pictures of each step.So over all, this actually is a pretty good book. And as I said, where it falls just a little short, may be more about what I was expecting, or would have liked.

Bought as a gift to go with another purchase. Book is beautiful with lots of illustrations and inspiration.Really good for beginners
