The product works fine and is simple to use. The box colour didn't match the product, but that is minor. A bit pricey for the level of technology, but there aren't a lot of DVD products around these days, so not that bad.

I burn a lot of DVDs & CDs and own several programs that need to be installed from an optical drive. Therefore, a computer without an optical drive has been useless to me. However, a situation has arrived where I needed a 2-in-1 computer with detachable monitor that I could use as a tablet. A friend gave me a birthday present a couple weeks ago, a new Surface Book to meet that requirement, but there was no optical drive. I searched online for portable drives. Sine my new computer has USB 3.0 ports, I wanted a drive that would take advantage of the ports. This seemed to be the ideal situation. I ordered through Amazon Prime and got free one day delivery. It came direct from the manufacturer. I plugged it in and played a CD with no problem. I had to install some software to play the DVDs, but fortunately I already own that software and the drive installed it perfectly. I then watched a DVD movie and it was perfect. What a great drive.

This cd burner functions well, and is easy to operate. After unresolved problems with a faulty product from another seller, this transaction was most pleasing.

I had one for my laptop but moved house and lost it some where, so purchased another from Amazon I think its the same as I purchased before works well no problems.

Tl;dr: Repeatedly ejects discs and is extremely loud when reading a disc/pausing/skipping scenes. Not cheap enough to justify the extremely erratic functioning. Takes the fun out of watching movies/TV, unfortunately.Repeatedly ejects DVDs which are brand new and have no problem playing in other DVD players. It will eject a disc in the middle of a movie and it takes 10-15 minutes of repeatedly reinserting the disc and reconnecting the device to even resume viewing. As I write this, I have been trying to watch a movie, and even when the disk is finally read, there are multiple previews that I cannot skip through, which I have been forced to watch again and again and manually skip through because the player repeatedly ejects the disk. (Other media players on my PC will not even recognize that the drive has a disk inserted, so the problem is not with my software.)Extremely loud and makes a whirring sound whenever it's reading a disk, skipping through scenes, turned on, or preparing to eject a disk--so essentially it is always making noise.For the price, it is not nearly cheap enough to justify its lack of functioning. I would return it, but I am unable to. Please do not buy this. Buy from an established brand like LG, Samsung, Acer, or any other brand besides these sub-rate sellers which Amazon allows to flourish.
