I bought this to connect two long eithernet cables. Nice and sturdy, no loose wires

the quality of this coupler shouldn't be compared to those cheap plastic couplers. This steps up the quality of your connection when faced with no other options.

This is exactly what I needed to simply patch together two cables I had to reach a device that was a great distance from my hard wired equipment. I had plenty of shorter cables (15 and 25 feet) and the computer I wanted to run a wired connection to rather than wifi was about 35 feet from my switch. Rather than spending much more money to get a 50 foot cable, I spent less money to get this coupler, and it works fine. I've got a 25 foot Cat6 paired to a 15 foot Cat6 with one of these adapters and the speed is fine - no additional lag by adding a second cable (I ran speed tests with just one cable when I moved the computer to the end of the 15 foot and then the two cables coupled with this adapter).The adapter includes 2 couplers as well as four RJ45 plugs. Frankly, I don't understand why these are necessary - if you are rolling your own cable you'd just make it the length you'd need and skip the coupler.In any event, the coupler performs well and does exactly what it is designed to do.

I ran an ethernet cable from a closet to my yard to get an outside view for a PoE cam. Despite all my measurements, the cable was too short. Instead of running a cable again (quite an effort) I decided to try a coupler. It worked w/o any issues.

I increased my rating from 2 to 4 after receipt of an email from Dinger the day after this posting. They offered a quick replacement and an apology for the problem. Given the ratings from others, I will assume I received a bad run. In my book a quick response to a problem compensates for a lot.I cannot get any of three brands of RJ-45 connectors to insert into this product. Including the package of RJ-45 connectors that came with it. It will accept with my older pre-made cat 5 cables. I managed to insert one of their connectors and had to use pliers in one hand while depressing the tab with the other hand to get it out. May just be a bad run but returned the product and purchased another brand.

UPDATE 6/282017Seller reached out to me via email to rectify any and all issues. Considering the cost I don't see a need for a lot of time being spent on dealing with the issue. Things happen and that is a fact of manufacturing.included RJ45 connectors will not fit in the couplers. Unable to use the product. Looks well made but if the connecter won't fit the coupler is useless.I tried several RJ45ez connectors and they too will not fit. Actually insertion is impossible. These looked like good quality components but perhaps they were made for some non-standard demential RJ45 terminal.

I am very happy with the Quality of these couplers.

Installed Funlux 8 camera sPOE system. Needed to extended 6 sPOE cables to reach the NVR box. All couplers worked great. I also used all 12 of the RJ45 module plugs that came with the couplers. After crimping each plug to Cat5e cables, the plug attached to the Dinger couplers without any issues. I'm wondering if reviewers who said the RJ45 module plugs didn't fit into the coupler realize you must crimp the plugs to an ethernet cable first before inserting it into the coupler. I will definitely purchase again if I need more RJ45 couplers.
