VPI RCM HW-16.5, 17 & 27 (12") Black Delrin Vacuum Tube - E3009 - VPI Record Cleaning Machine Vacuum Tube

The cheaper clear plastic VPI tubes are vulnerable at the end with the slotted insertion site connecting the tube onto the suction head of the machine. This end invariably cracks after a certain amount of time and use. Exposure to cleaning solutions makes the plastic brittle, I surmise. This tube certainly appears much more durable and crack resistant. Only time and use will tell. The small strips of felt along the slit in the tube will doubtless need replacement over time, and one can buy Nitty Gritty replacement strips for that purpose. If the tube truly never breaks it is a worthwhile investment if you clean a large number of records a year.

Works as described. I gave it four stars because of the ridiculous price. I’ve broken several vacuum tubes and I bought this for obvious reasons, I needed a vacuum tube that didn’t break after a few months. I figured this would be the last one I’d buy.

I’ve had my VPI for over 25 years, and I’m hoping this bad boy will prolong its useful life by many more. If you can afford the initial outlay, should prove to be cost-effective!

Exact replacement but pricey. Hope it lasts longer than the transparent vacuum tube.

If you've ever had the clear plastic tubes crack, and I've talked to plenty who have, you have to go with this vacuum tube.This sucker will never break. The initial investment may seem high, but the peace of mind you get from being able to clean records and know this won't crack makes it worth it5 big stars.

Needed a replacement. Found it a bit pricey but I needed it and was a perfect fit.
