Bought this when my company's $10k+ EXFO had the parameters updated recently and it now does not work. This unit has worked well for me in the last two months, I work in the telecom industry as a field engineer and this model is small and great for fiber testing on towers, but not meant for long fiber runs for city small cells. Much smaller to carry than the exfo which is a major plus and accurate enough to identify breaks or dirty fiber. The light on this thing is so bright that it sometimes illuminates the outer jacket of single mode fiber which makes it easy to find the pair you are testing at junctions. Could be a little more durable with construction, especially the top cover, and it would be nice if it saved calibrating after auto shut off. I recommend it for troubleshooting fiber issues. Don't get me wrong, the EXFO is a much better product with crazy capabilities not found on this product that will be needed for future innovations, but for troubleshooting this little device works just fine. I did also have to purchase a single mode 9/125um SC male to LC female hybrid optical adapter to use it FYI.
