Best ATA!

This is the best single line ATA you can get. It supports pulse dialing and it has a REN of 5 just like the POTS lines did. It works nice with VoIP.ms, which is the best provider in my opinion. This thing is a little difficult to set up, but if you follow a tutorial for the settings to change for your provider it wont be so hard. I have had no issues with this yet. Im glad i chose to upgrade from my cell2jqack to this. My experience with calls have been pretty good. The quality is only bad when the internet is bad. If you have any sort of T-Mobile internet, you will not get this to work unless you turn on TLS on this device and your providers settings. If you use VoIP.ms, they tell you how to change to TLS on their end and on the ATAs end. Conclusion: I’m glad i bought this ata.

Works good with voip.ms

I bought to replace the MagicJack that I was not happy with. This is the V2 unit not the V1. Someone said the password didn't work as admin. This is true for the V2 the password is printed on the label on the back of the unit. Set up was not the same as the sample shown on the voip.ms web site, but it will set up and works great once set up. Make sure you update the firmware to latest from Grandstream web site.I couldn't be happier with HT801 V2 and voip.ms combo. Saving over $20/month over Spectrum. Once set up the quality of calls and the features are really good.

Easy to use VOIP adapter fir regular phones

Ideal solution for a single line of VOIP service using regular telephones for home or small business. Requires some knowledge to set up and secure, but then it just works like a regular land line.

Great SIP ATA

Worked with out issue on existing POTS lines, configuration is a bit complicated with tons of options, so I recommend using a provider with good configuration guides such as VoIP.ms, worked well for my needs.

phone adaptor

The setup of this product was terrible. The only YouTube presenter that was supposed to be helping the connection to Google Voice, however his device back office on the setup menu was nothing like mine. Undoubtedly, his Grand Stream device is the same device as the one I bought; however, his core software was for a previous device version.

Great!

I confirmed that the seller TeleDirect is selling HT801 V2 with the US style plug.I have tested both V1 and V2 with voip(.ms) and they both work fine, incoming and outgoing calls. Both V1 and V2 can be powered from a USB type A hub. For example, I'm using one of the USB type-A ports on my WiFi router to power the GrandStream device. Here are the differences I have noticed, but there are probably more.Differences:The major difference is the webportal is majorly updated. It looks more modern, it's faster, more organized, and provides a find setting feature. The only difference on the physical device I saw was one of the blue lights and writing over top of the ethernet port. V1 used an Earth-arrow icon. V2 replaced the Earth-arrow icon with the letters "NET".Password change: default username / passwordV1: admin / adminV2: admin / <written on sticker on bottom of ATA>Note: the firmware for V1 and V2 are different links:V1: Release_HT801_1.0.57.1.zipV2: Release_HT80xV2_1.0.3.5.zipRing Power:V1: Had a checkbox "High Ring Power"V2: has a ComboBox with multiple options: 45Vrms, 50Vrms, 55VrmsUpdating the firmware manually in V2 is much faster. The only thing is it gives an error "Reboot failed" but it succeeded.Data-sheet differences:Codecs:V2: added G.722Pass-through:V1: Short/Long Haul Ring Load 2 REN: Up to 1km on 24 AWGV2: Short/Long Haul Ring Load 5 REN: Up to 1km on 24 AWGNetwork-Protocols:V2: added SSH, SNMP, IMS/3GPP, IPoEQoS:V2: added Layer 2 (802.1Q VLAN, SIP/RTP 802.1p)Provisioning and Control & Management Syslog support:V2: removed telnet and added SSHCompliance:V2: added K.21

works great with voip.ms

works great. I wanted to bring back an old landline and old wall mounted phone from the 90s into the house. It's also a great setup for kids in the house so they can call 911 if needed. Also they'll be able to call any adult if there's every an emergency. the default password was on the bottom of the device. It's not admin/admin. took a bit of googling to find this. Once I was in, I followed the voip.ms instructions and got my DID number running with e911. I wired it into my home's old landline and now all the rj11 ports in every room has a dial tone. $2.38 a month from voip.ms is worth it.

Got my old rotary phone working again!

Moved into a house with an old rotary phone, and really wanted to use it. This was the magic item that got it to work... cheap VOIP plan plus this adapter from phone to router, and I had it up and running with almost no effort. I was actually kind of dumbfounded that it was so easy... I had blocked off 3-4 hours of my night to install, set up, and troubleshoot what I assumed was going to be error after error trying to get this to work with a rotary phone, but all in all in took about 15 minutes! Love this thing!
