As a soccer official I have used the Fox 40 and the Dolphin. The unique tone has a 3rd lower frequency which allows players to differentiate from other fields during a tournament. It still carries around the field and in a pinch will stop players in their tracks if blown at full volume.

Excellent whistle. Been using it for years, just got to stop losing them. This is my third one I've had to buy in 11 years. It's loud, authoritative, and thankfully it points away from me so my ears don't absorb the loudness. Cannot say enough good things about this product, and the Acme corporation in England. The English make great whistles, especially this one. It's no wonder it's one of their most popular sellers. Many soccer referees I work with use this whistle as well.

This is a great whistle to have when you are refereeing games in a complex where multiple games are going on at the same time. Up close it sounds like pretty much evety other pealess whistle, but once you move away you get a little more of a hollow train whistle sound. It is distinct and essy to pick up. Like other pealess whistles, the harder you blow the louder it gets. I love the design and sound.

Absolutely my favorite whistle for soccer matches. This was my first whistle when I started reffing soccer 20 years ago and I often hand these out to new referees after an assessment. Even if your favorite whistle is a Fox 40, you need to have one of these in your bag for tournaments so that the players on your field are hearing and reacting to you, not the referee on the adjacent field overblowing his Fox 40.
