Fun, Engaging DIY Project
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom and her partner and was a little nervous because it didn't have any reviews. Luckily, besides a few grammarical mistakes the instructions were easy to follow, and the pieces were all accounted for. Took them around 5 hours to construct but they enjoyed themselves the entire time. I didn't realize it when I purchased, but it also comes with a music box! No glue though. Will be buying more in the future for the book-lovers in my life.

Very, very good but needs improvements
I’ll start with saying that really enjoyed this kit! And now that I finally have it all together it is beautiful!! I think this kit would be good for a beginner, there is not too many pieces that you have to try and make besides the books that go in the library. Although that is just a lot of cutting and gluing for the books. Now for other things that could be improved. I was not given glue for my kit, though it was supposed to be included as per instructions. This really held up my ability to do the project for a couple days since you literally cannot do anything without having some sort of glue to keep the wooden and crafted pieces from falling apart. Another was that a few of my wood pieces were misprinted it is not really noticeable once the project is finished and I can no longer see which pieces were affected. But it is something that is odd were doing the project. Finally one of the walls of my bookend was cut wrong?? One side of my bookend will not go into the other three and sadly it is the final side which you directly see from the front and can tell that it is not in all the way. I have tried to force it, but stopped after awhile since I did not want to crack/split the wood with too much pressure. It is not a dealbreaker but would be nice to have even walls.Side note, please be careful when handling any of the wooden pieces as they can break if you apply too much pressure to them. If the break is not too bad then a little glue goes a long way towards fixing them. Go slowly and enjoy the project, but make sure that you have extra glue on hand. I would give this a 3.5 rating (if Amazon let me), half a star knocked off for the missing glue and a full star for misprinted and mismatched pieces.

Fun
This was a lot of fun and I love the attention to details on it. All of the pieces were present but some of them did look like they were a bit wrong. It didn’t affect the overall look though so I’m not too upset with it. It looks great on my bookshelf.

Cool project, expensive though
This is one of those craft projects that will always look better in the photos than in real life. I’m not sure $43 justifies. If you are good at crafting, this will probably be fun. The instruction book isn’t the best. But if you need something to be busy with this is definitely a pool project. Might make a good gift, although you need to give this to somebody who is extremely crafty.

Fairly Easy to Assemble, Some Pieces Need Wiggling
I like puzzles and books, so this was a natural find for me. Most pieces went together nicely, but I found I had to jiggle some pieces into place. I didn't want to force it because the components don't seem super strong. No glue included, but I had some from crafting. In all, fun to put together. Took off a star because of lack of ease on some parts, as well as absence of glue.

Extremely cool! Set aside a few hours to put it together
I like the idea of a charming little diorama sitting on a bookshelf, and thought this might be kinda cool. But it's so much better than that. The pieces are wooden, the prints are vibrant, the cut-outs are precise. Overall it's a very high quality and attractive model. It's also lit (with a motion sensor, I think), and is a music box, that reverberates a slightly melancholy tune quite well on the wooden structure.I sat down figuring I'd be folding mostly cardboard pieces and putting it together in an hour or so - NOPE! It has a lot of small pieces and requires a little gluing. Fortunately, it has a good instruction booklet, and all of the pieces are clearly labeled. I'm sure it will take at least a fun afternoon to put it together, which my kids and I plan to do this weekend. It's going to look great on the bookshelf for many years.I got the 桜の街 (sakura-no-machi / Cherry Blossom City) set. I like it so much, that I'm getting one or two of the others to give as gifts. If you're also thinking of giving one of these as a gift - it won't be an easy project for a young child to build themselves. It will require some skill and a little patience to assemble. 12-14 seems about right to me, if they are experienced model builders. But any age would benefit from some adult help.

Neat model but takes some effort to assemble
Pretty good set that's a nice addition to our bookcase. Takes some time to assemble.

Fun to do. Takes times. Beautiful. Great quality
We are in the middle of doing ours but this came ins variety of materials. Some is made of wood and some paper. It says it came with a glue in the package but there’s none. We have Elmer’s glue and that works. We just used it to glue some paper pieces together like a stack of books as instructed. Can’t wait to finish the piece. The pieces looks beautiful before assembly so I can only imagine it looking better when finished.
