Really impressed
I was impressed with the ease of use and quality of these tools for the price. As some reviewers mentioned, you will need to buy a 9V battery for the cable tester but they're easily picked up cheaply in pound shops or similar. Included is a simple 10-step instruction guide for making a network cable that was easy to follow. The picture provided of the different coloured cable order (1-8) is in black and white but clearly labelled. I would recommend colouring it yourself for reference though, or using a colour picture from online. The quality of the tools is on the whole high and the included RJ45 connecting heads and protective sheaths are a nice touch and the reason I went for this kit over others on Amazon. It took around 5-10 mins to make my first cable once I worked everything out and is certainly a lot cheaper than getting an engineer to do the much longer cable run I plan to do. No hesitation recommending to others.

Perfect solution for a job which I had put off for too long
Recently installed some Ethernet cable to connect up a video streaming box and replaced an unreliable Powerline connection. The kit was perfect for what I needed, and good value for money - just hope I can find more jobs to use it for so it doesn't go to waste.Manual was simple and clear - wiring diagrams were useful to refresh my memory and everything is working perfectly.I didn't need to use the tester gadget, but perhaps I will in the future. And careful - the wire stripper is sharp!!

Value for money.
This kit is useful. The tester in my view is important as it tells you if you have wired the connectors correctly as there is no other way to check. The crimper itself was to start not impressive as it have damaged few connectors while crimping, however later I have discovered that I was not pushing the connector far in enough for the teeth of the crimper to align properly with the connectors pins. The wire stripper thingy is not great as it is very tight, every time I have used it it gone deep and damaged the internal wires, so I used Stanley knife instead with better outcome. The connectors came with it are not pass through and I have struggled to use them , I prefer pass through connector which are very easy. The crimper can work on pass through connectors but you need to cut the excess wire to be very flush and without distorting them and make them touch each other. I have achieved this using a tiny scissor cutting each wire individually. There was other things in the kit I do not know what they are for.

Good tool kit
I’ve used the kit to make up a few RJ45 cables. Cutting cable is easy as is stripping the cover back. Termination on the supplied plugs is super easy too and once the cable is complete, the tester provides assurance that all cables are correctly inserted and in order. You do need one of those cuboid batteries. Even comes with BT joints. The actual crimper is as good as any I’ve used. Only thing I upgraded was the push tool but the one in the kit is ample. Overall I would highly recommend this kit. The quality is good enough to last my lifetime as a DIYer.

Very good value for money
After reading the negative reviews I was a bit sceptical about what the quality of this was going to be but when I received it this morning and used it for the first time it was absolutely spot on - admittedly the first two crimps were wrong (I had the pairs swapped) but that is user error and nothing to do with the tool. I have used similar tools before and can say this compares well with others double the price. The only thing that is a bit dubious are the quality of the connectors supplied which at this price is not surprising and I might recommend purchasing better quality versions with cable guides making it easier to insert the Cat5 cable. The cable checker works really well and correctly diagnosed the swapped pair I had made on my first crimp so again nothing to criticize here and also diagnosed a faulty cable I had already suspected of being a problem. All in all recommended for light to medium use and at the current price this kit is a steal.

Things go wrong but it's how they respond.
Great little kit for my first foray into wiring up the cables in my house. Easy to use and clear instructions. Tester had a LED failure on light 8 so I contacted the seller whom responded pretty much immediately with a refund to enable me to purchase a replacement tester or return the full kit. I only wanted to get a new tester so went for the partial refund. Refund done next day. Can't ask anything more from a service perspective other than it to work right first time but at the price it is to be expected things may not be up to scratch. Nonetheless it's how a vendor responds when things do go wrong that makes all the difference. An example of great service.

Eventually i got a cbale to work
This is one of those you either get it right or you don't things, if you have a few cables to repair its worth it giving it a try. But it aint easy to line the cables in the correct order to be fair this isnt a product fault . Product itself for the price and the bits you get isnt that bad of a deal at least i got 15 tries before i got 12 cable to show some lights end result im happy.
