Just what I was looking for for planting my veg.

I have been wanting one of these for awhile now, but found them to be a bit expensive. I found that Amazon had a pretty decent price. I used it this past fall to plant onions and garlic. I found the product to be great quality and easy to use. I just which it came with a garden Dibber with measurements ( with no additional cost to original price).

This wooden planting ruler and seed spacer are great to have on hand for all gardeners as they are super useful when planting from seed but also for measuring out how far apart to plant seedlings in the ground. The came well packaged and are very well made from real wood. Another plus is that all the measurements and words can be easily seen and can even be used with kids for educational purposes while in the garden.

Son #1 takes care of plotting and layout of the garden - the rest of us just do the grunt work (ha!) - so I decided this planting ruler might be a good idea. It came at the end of garden season for us, but he spent quite a bit of time checking it out. It's well made and looks like it will be pretty sturdy. With all the markings, it should take out some of the guesswork. He's a stickler for the details, so this is perfect for him. The price is pretty reasonable for the quality, in my opinion, so I'd say the value is good.

This is a chunky ruler. This is more of a novelty than anything. There is nothing wrong with it and it is cute and functional, but it is not the most practical thing. The holes in the ruler do not really fit a dibbler so you need to bring a stick with you. The distances are nice but you can accomplish the same at a larger scale with a square footage gardening template. Not to mention that this little, chunky ruler is 15 USD at the time of this review. Handcrafted? Yeah, okay. Maybe you cut our the rectangle for the ruler and drilled the holes but this screams laser burned and CNC to me with how precise and consistent every marking and hole and cut is. Not worth the price unless you want to gift it as a novelty.

I really like this idea. The ruler has labels for the most common veggie seeds and holes to put the seed in. I used this in my 2x2 garden bed and it worked well but I wouldn't want to use it for my 8 ft long beds. It is just too time consuming to lay out a large bed of seeds with just this one ruler. It is a great idea, well made and works in all my small beds. I am glad I have added it to my garden tools.

It is handy to have when you are trying to be precise in planting small areas. Sometimes estimating is not good enough. These spacers are big enough to fit seed through and the wood material is durable to throw into a garden cart.
