Kindle Version is NOT GOOD! Buy the real thing.
I gave this book five stars because it's great.....the images, historical accounts, and technical info make this The Book in my humble opinion. A must for every burst fan.The Kindle version is a problem.....the high quality pictures, which are a major draw to this book, are too low resolution. Images meant to educate referred to by the text are too small and/or low quality to see and do NOT enlarge as the magnification only increases text font size. Blowing up a screen shot to see what they are talking about is not a good user experience. I ended up buying both and regretting the Kindle version.

Low Quality Images
I bought this EBook version to use on my reader, and was hoping to have a good book with good photos of these beautiful guitars. I got the good book, but the photos leave alot to be desired. The photographs of the guitars are terrific, but their low resolution examples in this EBook are maddening. If you see an image that you would like to enlarge, you can tap it and the reader will bring it up alone. you can then try to enlarge the image for closer scrutiny. However, all that does is pixelate the image because it is a low resolution image, and trying to enlarge a portion of the image only blurs out the details. It was very disappointing. I gave it a three star rating only for the strength of the research and writing. The implementation of this book as an EBook takes away from the quality of the book itself. Save your money, and buy this book in a hard copy version. I did, after this EBook disappointment.

Not necessary to play a guitar to enjoy this book......
This is one of the few books on guitar that even a non-player could enjoy. The quality of the photography of the 1958-1960 sunburst Gibson Les Pauls is beautiful.

The Beauty of the 'Burst
A well done book and a must have for those who appreciate fine guitars. Visually the photos are stunning and highlight the features that make these guitars unique.
