Great piece of kit
Fit into my garage to allow for Alexa controlled garden lights, replaced an analogue timer. Can't fault it.The wiring was simple to follow.

Seems to do the job and more..
This was bought to replace a failed mechanical timer, the type with segments. Only 2 days in and it's working very nicely, I have only chosen to give 4 stars because of a few setup issues which I'll detail here.Separating the face plate from the switch body was the first issue, it just felt it need more leverage than I expected with the screwdriver provided and I was afraid of doing damage. Once off I needed to fit the deeper backbox (provided) in place of the one already there. Connecting the 4 wires was straightforward, so I screwed the switch to the box and fitted the face plate.I'd already installed the Smart Life app which wasn't too tricky, but powering up the timer and then trying to add it to the app needed 3 attempts. Newer wifi routers connect at 5G but the switch works on the 2.4G band so I had to use the right wifi channel. Having used Bluetooth to pick up the switch automatically, the app still wouldn't connect. I went back to the instructions provided and it was necessary to select a different device type before the app paired successfully. After that, setting the timer was reasonably easy and of course this can be programmed to the minute rather than the 15 minute segments on the old timer. The switch can be manually turned on and off by touching the symbol in the centre of the face plate and the app shows a green power button when the immersion is on.I like it and may well get a second to replace the lower element timer. Some people say their devices have failed sooner than they'd expected so I'll have to reserve judgement there, however a switch rated at 40A should be more than adequate for a 3kW heating element. I would recommend you try one as it's no more expensive than a segment timer.

Works as described, but switching 40 A would be brave!
This Wifi switch enables me to control the immersion heater via the Alexa system. The set up using the SmartLife App and subsequent linking to Alexa was all straightforward. However the wiring of the control switch did need some care as the connector terminals are not that big (I certainly would not want to switch 40A with it though the 13A for an immersion heater is probably OK). There is no earth post so an extra connector block is required, squashing the whole lot into the rather flimsy back box also isn't that great. The face plate then clips on the front. However as others have noted it would be easy to snap the plastic clips. So overall it does what it claims well and does have a CE / UKCA logo on the packaging, but it doesn't have the build quality I would expect for UK electrical equipment. As for switching 40A - that's for the brave!

Excellent value
It was easy to install and set up. The only downside was that the mounting box didn't have an earth connection.
