Great Annalog to Digital Convertor
I purchased this so that we could watch local TV channels via antenna on a 65 inch conference room monitor that I received for free when my employer downsized and moved to a smaller facility. Set-up was simple and pretty much initiated itself upon connecting it to the monitor and turning on the power. Works perfectly with our external HD antenna and it comes with a remote that allows you to control the volume and choose channels. Great for anyone who has an extra/old monitors that they want to convert to a TV for a spare room, office, kitchen, or patio. The price was also very affordable.

Good digital TV receiver/converter.
I have a TV that only receives analog channels. Well, this receiver/converter allows me to receive digital TV channels OTA. At first I was concerned about reports that the remote didn't work well but with a little experience it works perfectly. You should see the picture quality with a good monitor. It is amazing.

One star off for lousy HDMI cable. Tested Coax in to HDMI out. Initial results: Horrible picture and no sound.Swapped out the provided HDMI cable for a quality cable, and presto! Wonderful picture and audio. Signal is being fed into a thirteen year old European HDTV that cannot natively handle ATSC signals.Used with an OTA antenna https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F36WQTHS?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 along with an LTE filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HVT59F5?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 . 57 channels received in my area, only two less than perfect. No issues whatsoever with remote control from fourteen feet away in a well-lit room.RCA & Composite video not tested.Program Recording to external USB device not tested. As others have mentioned, the instructions are not intuitive for the more advanced functions. However, for basic functions (connections, auto channel search, EPG (channel guide)) they were quite clear and presented no problems getting hooked up and running.

An eminently cost-effective solution, with a few quibbles...
My 12+ year-old TV by itself can't display the video of over-the-air channels transmitted using MPEG-4 or h.264 compression. However, thanks to this little device, which offers that very capability, I'm now able to use my obsolescent flat screen to watch some of my favorite local sportball teams lose in high def...and for free. While setup was generally straightforward, it did take a few attempts to successfully pair the device's remote with my TV remote. That said, this compact external tuner affords an elegant and eminently affordable solution to my problem - *way* cheaper than purchasing a new TV.I also tested the device's recording functionality (recorded programs can be saved to a FAT32 flash drive having up to 32GB of storage capacity). While the process is a bit clunky and isn't really described or explained w/in the user manual, it *does* work and obviates the need to purchase a separate recorder. One downside: while recording is in progress, the only channel that can be viewed is the channel that's being recorded; in other words, recording isn't an asynchronous background process. One more thing - ***please handle the remote with the utmost care***, as it's quite fragile and will break if dropped onto a hard surface. Further, because of its design, the device is effectively bricked without the remote. As it seems that replacement remotes aren't sold separately, I ended up buying a second tuner for the included remote. No great expense, but...Anyhow, all that aside, still quite pleased - great bang for the buck with this one...

Only good for watching live TV and nothing else.
UPDATED April 2025:Decreasing from 2 down to 1 star. It's been a few months. Now the unit frequently and mysteriously drops some channels from my Favorites list, especially the local ABC and PBS channels. Those get very strong signals too. It also will drop scheduled recordings and my weekly programs will not record because it's disappeared from the To-Do list. Sometimes it will drop the Favorite channel that I have a scheduled recording for, but still have it programmed to record only without the channel showing. Therefore, it doesn't record anything since it doesn't know what channel to record from. It will not allow me to Edit it and add the channel back. I have to delete the programming completely and start over.Essentially, this only works as an antenna decoder. All the other functions frequently fail.UPDATED FEB 2025:Been using this a few weeks now. The unit has since started acting up:1. Now sometimes it will shut down by itself while watching TV and then either reboot or stay off. If it stays off, the remote won't turn it back on so I have to unplug the box and force a reboot.2. Video and audio will get out of sync where video is delayed slightly. This is when watching live TV. Haven't recorded enough on it to see if it routinely happens on DVR. Rebooting the box is the only fix...until it starts happening again. I have my antenna split to another TV with built-in tuner. This delay doesn't occur on that TV so I know it's the ZJBox.3. DVR recordings and live TV show pixelations now and then even with very strong signal strength. Again, my other TV with built-in tuner doesn't do this. For $20, you get what you paid for. I just wish someone would make a simple tuner/decoder that just stays active all the time without a "brain" that has to boot up.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Finally cut the satellite cord, but still needed to be able to watch local broadcasts and record occasionally. My TV has a built-in tuner, but my components are in another room and I didn't want to fish coax cable through the attic/wall then take the TV off the wall to connect the coax, etc. I opted for this tuner so I could install it at the receiver where my satellite box was and am using it with a wireless IR blaster relay. Setup was pretty straightforward. However, I docked a star because there are no instructions on how to use the recording features and the buttons you use for other functions don't always match what's written/shown on the instruction sheet. So, I had to go through quite a bit of trial and error and figure things out.I was finally able to get it all set up with favorite channels and am using a PNY 256G USB drive for the recordings. So far, everything seems to be working.Things I managed to figure out about the recording/DVR:1. Instructions say the guide will show you upcoming shows 14 days in advance, but it actually only goes 23 hours ahead. So you can't schedule to record a show in advance until the day before when the show actually appears on the guide. I did test it on a show that was starting in 20 minutes and it recorded perfectly.2. Hitting the Record button will start recording what you're currently watching, BUT you have to hit the STOP button to stop recording. As far as I can tell, it will not stop recording until you press Stop.3. You can schedule a recording in advance, but it must be at least 2 minutes before the show starts. Otherwise you'll get a notice on the screen that says it's not available or something.4. While watching live TV, the playback buttons will allow you to pause/rewind/fast forward. Screen calls it a Time Shift. Not sure how long you can keep it paused and such though.Honestly, if you just need a very basic HD/1080p tuner with DVR capability, then this will work just fine. I didn't want all the added features like streaming to other TVs or installing apps/paying for subscriptions with the $100+ price of fancier tuners. For this price of $20 though, you have to be willing to deal with the VERY rudimentary interface and lack of recording instructions.

Excellent digital converter box for receiving over-the-air TV
Set this up for a friend who lives out on the fringes of a large city. I set this up on a chest of drawers near a window inside an apartment. I didn't expect to receive many channels, but it pulled in just over 3 dozen channels. Most were clear and sharp. it was easy to set up and worked very very well.
