This replaced our old Hamilton Beach smooth edge electric can opener that, after ten years of service, had begun to not cut well. Used it for a month or so now and I can say this thing is better than that one by miles, even when it was new. Should last a long time and make cans easier/safer to open!

I care for a large number of animals on my property so I open a LOT of cans of food every day. This works great on steel cans, but I did notice with aluminum cans, that sometimes I get a small metal shard of aluminum that comes off the lid. I'd avoid using this with aluminum cans.

This is very hard to get can to grab to cut the lid off. Also chrome is not my favourite to clean. It does cut well after fighting with it to grab the can and its noisy!!!!
