I got this item to replace a previous smaller unit that had gone bad, but that I otherwise loved. Though this unit is bigger, it works just as well. My car doesn't have a rear view mirror (work truck with no rear windows) so I use this as an always on rear camera and I like to mount it where the rear mirror would be. This is just on the upper limit of a size that would be comfortable mounted on the windshield without being too big and the adhesive that comes with it will definitely do the job. Pro tip, if using it for this purpose I found it worked best mounted upside down and then in settings you can flip the screen so it appears right side up (very cool feature - they thought of everything).The customer service / tech support team behind this unit is the same as my last and I have to say they are incredible. They answer within 24 hours, clearly, and very helpfully. When I was setting up my first unit, I was doing some customization to have it always have power and always show rear camera and they helped me with the settings to make sure I had it dialed in just right. This unit works the same way so I didn't need any setup help (and for 99% of people it will be very easy and self explanatory anyway), but they've still been helpful whenever I need extra parts so I can mount it in certain ways or have multiple options to power the device. Truly 10/10 customer service team!!Some other highlights:-The interface is very smooth. It turns right on as soon as the car is on, and you can switch screens and cameras quickly and the camera is truly real time.- The connection to CarPlay is very stable. this unit is bigger than my last so it's nice that I can have CarPlay and the rear camera side by side on screen and both are a good size. The only issue I have in my truck is that my road noise is pretty bad so people complain when I use my cars bluetooth or this device for phone calls because they can't hear me well but that really isn't a fault of the mic on the device, its just a caution if you have a noisy car that you might still want to use an earpiece instead of CarPlay.- the camera remains clear even at night. in rain the rear camera can sometimes blur, but that will be true of any camera. the front camera since its filming from inside the vehicle stays clear.- the recording operation is very smooth and works very well. its easy to retrieve footage (though hopefully you'll never need to!)

This widescreen carplay/android play is a game changer especially for older cars that were never equipped with a dedicated navigation system. Very easy to pair it to bluetooth on either iphone or android. Once paired and positioned on dashbaord or you can attach it to provided arm that secures with a suction cup on front windshield. The screen is a clear 9.26 inch wide angle display. Initial volume default was a little low for my liking, but thru settings can be raised to a nice level. You can tap on the microphone icon and it listens to you and you ask for a specific address and comes up with a matching suggestion. Tap it and navigation starts with turn by turn directions. Just make sure your phone is fully charged as it works thru the bluetooth settings. The unit comes with a very clear rear backup camera I suggest having it installed by a professional. It also has a front facing camera that is a dashcam which can record in 24 hour loops depending on size of storage card. It also plays your spotify songs and playlists. One nice feature like your high end navigation systems is when a text message comes in it asks if you want it to read it to you and then you can respond hands free. The one thing i would have preferred is a printed manual and the only thing it comes with as far as manuals are concerned is a folded starter paper with little as far as how to fully operate the system. That said it has a qr code to scan which opens up a full manual on the web. Unit also comes witj a cigarette lighter connection to power the unit. For the reasonable price this unit costs I would.highly recommend it to anyone that would like a high end navigation system for a fraction of the cost of a factory installed unit that costs thousands of dollars when pre installed.
