Winsome Rochester Occasional, Console Table, Antique Walnut

This occasional table is a bargain. I actually use it as a space saving office/computer desk. I spent a lot of time searching before deciding on this product. I really wanted something that looked nice but at a reasonable price. A big factor for me was whether it was made of solid wood. It was not evident to me from the description, so I held my breath until it arrived. I can emphatically state that it is indeed constructed of solid wood. Any mention of composite wood refers only to the materials used to construct the inside of the drawer, which cannot be seen unless the drawer is opened. I assembled the desk quickly, and I am very happy with the quality and appearance. The only minor detail that I've discovered is that the drawer knob has to be lifted to shut the drawer completely. Again, this is a very minor issue. I highly recommend this table.

This table was a great addition to our church. It is being used as a offering table, it also has a drawer to place books and envelopes in. The color is also just as viewed on the picture. It was easy to assemble and seems sturdy.

I have been in my master bedroom I use it when I'm on my own clothes and folding clothes and then I also use it when I yank up my clothes for the next following day

Nice piece of furniture. I didn’t expect much for the price but it’s a solid piece of furniture. Very cute and definitely worth the money. Super easy to assemble. Only needed to attach the legs.

Enough room for a stereo receiver and a mid range speaker, yet far enough back to possibly ease the chest out a bit to get to stored blankets and pillows.Construction is good. Design is simple. My table arrived in perfect condition in 4 days after placing the order. I specifically ordered it to make it into a sewing table. To do this we had to remove the drawer and cut a hole in the top large enough to fit my sewing machine. We used 4 "L" shaped steel brackets from the hardware store (using 3/4" screws with a washer behind the bracket to keep the screw from going all the way through)and a piece of plywood for a shelf to hold the machine. Then we cut a hole in the table top to fit the machine. We could not use the drawer because the machine took up most of the space so we turned the table around and used the back for the front (also allows more air circulation for the sewing machine). We cut the hole 2 inches longer than the machine measurement to accommodate the cords and air vent on the sewing machine. The shelf turned out to be a little too low so to raise the machine we put a couple of old magazines under the machine and it raised it to the perfect level. It took us a week to get the courage to cut a hole in the top of our beautiful new table, but we finally did it and it turned out great. Neither of us had ever used a jigsaw but it was much easier than we expected. On the corners of our cut we drilled holes to make rounded corners (to match the shape of the sewing machine) and also to have a place to put the blade of the saw to get started. I love my new sewing table. It lowered the machine to a more comfortable height and is not as stressful on my shoulders from using it on the dining room table that was too high for comfort. Not nearly as expensive to do as buying one of the plastic ones made for this purpose, looks much better, and not as wobbly.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect getting this from Amazon, since you don't get to see it in person, but it looks really good and is nice and sturdy. It has been a great desk for me!
