I have had this product a few months and it is working great! A little tip for those of you who buy it - you can plug in the passcode BEFORE you put it into your laptop, which makes it a lot easier. :-)

Although this is sold as FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Validated, Veecom is not listed as a manufacturer of certified devices, and when I contacted Veecom asking for the validation certificate number for this device or the modules contained within, they did not respond.Based on that, I must conclude that this device is in fact not FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Validated.

Needed a secure, encrypted drive to satisfy compliance issue identified by regulators. This was an approved purchase by the onsite auditor, it came quickly, and it is very easy to use. Created password and was ready to use. 10 year battery. Price was right as well.
