Q: Can this also be used as a regular flashlight?

It does not cast a very bright or very far beam so I don't advise using it as a flashlight.

Q: how to get additional discs for this flashlight projector ?

Q: is this torch projects all 8 planets and a moon? thanks!

It does have the moon a couple of planets, I don't think it had all 8 between the 3 wheels, and various other space scenes. My 5 yr old likes it. It is very small and you have to manual move the tiny picture wheel. Not bad for a few dollars. For an older child I would go with one of the bigger projectors that automatically turns and has a larger projection.
