It's NOT easy to assemble without tools but WORTH THE WORK
It looks so so beautiful! I had to put everything together using just the tools they provided and my own strength, did it by myself, took me a good 2-3 hours because my arm started hurting, but you could feel that thanks to that, it ended up being very very sturdy.Pros:Colors are very beautiful. The images are very tasteful. Not to big, not too small, just the right size if you don't have a lot of room. My niece was 3 years old so this was perfect for her.VERY VERY sturdy, I doubt she will ever be able to break any of the walls or the roof. The assembly was smart and logical, it just took some power from me. They took the sturdiness very seriously and I am pleased with it.Cons:I wish it had a night light or a lamp that actually turns on and off. Otherwise, the first floor is a bit dark if you place it on the ground.Another con is that the stairs could be sturdier, my niece easily takes them off.The bathroom is in the hallway, right before the stairs. A very strange choice. You CAN place it elsewhere but the wall have the images of the rooms so it still looks like a bathroom. Wrong architectural decision.Would I buy again? Absolutely yes. Great product. The assembly took a lot of strength and time from me. Dolls are not included. I also ended up buying a bit more furniture.

Pretty much perfect
For the price (I got it on sale) I don’t think you will find a nicer doll house. First off, it’s almost all wood, including most parts of the furniture. So it’s sturdy. Second, it’s not so bad to put together. The instructions are clear and the parts are labeled. I made only one mistake that I had to unscrew and redo, and some of the smaller screws were difficult to align, but I don’t see that well. Third, it’s a really nice size. Not crazy big but big enough to impress a 4 year old. Fourth, the included furniture is very cute, and there is neither too much nor too little of it, just right for pretend play, and it includes the cute piano. I would recommend it for children 2-6 but the 3-4 year olds will love it best.

Well built with thoughtful design; minor flaws add character
The media could not be loaded. If you’re looking for an attractive, well-priced, well-built, functional wooden doll house that doesn’t take up too much space - this is for you.The design is thoughtfully crafted all the way down to the screw heads, whose color matches the background colors of the surrounding walls. The variety of included furniture is also a standout.Overall, I am very satisfied. As is my 4-year old. The wooden build gives it a bit of a classy dollhouse feel that sets it apart from a lot of the plastic options out there.Minor quibbles:-Several reviewers note that the stairs are hard to install, which is true, but they do fit. Stair installation is made easier when the screws of the adjacent columns and floor boards are loosened, giving the floor that meets the top step some give. Once loose, the top step can be seated and the bottom step pegs pushed into place before the structural screws are tightened up. Yes, some minor bowing of the floors is apparent after stair install, so the fit isn’t perfect. But it works quite well. See video.- Some of the wood furniture isn’t perfectly symmetrical. The vanity has an offset mirror and one leg is longer than the other. The hinges on the fridge freezer also aren’t even. But I think this gives the place character. And I would guess that furniture quirks will vary across sets.

Simple Assembly, Sturdy, Affordable and Adorable!
We bought this KidKraft Doll Cottage for our two year old daughter as her first "real" doll house. I wanted a sturdy house that was not too big and didn't require hours of assembly and was pleased with the house I chose.I did find this house on sale during Cyber sales week and the discount was my deciding factor for purchasing this model doll house, but now owning the home I would purchase it at the regular price as well.Arrival -Product arrived quickly using standard shipping and showed up in discrete packaging which was great since it was a gift for our little one. It is pretty heavy and I did have to have my hubby assist me in carrying it up our town homes 3 flights of stairs.Assembly -The doll house was completely unassembled, but came nicely packaged with easy to understand directions. My favorite part of the assembly process was the fact that each screw, nut and bolt was individually packaged and was labeled with a letter that corresponded to a letter in the instruction manual. This was so much easier for me to understand than the "usual" millions of random screws mixed together in one plastic bag. The assembly did take some time, maybe an hour in all? I didn't do it all in one night though so it may have been less time, but the directions were simple and everything went together smoothly. A small Allen wrench is included, but you will need a screw driver for tightening some of the screws. I had no leftover screws or pieces at the end and it looked just like the image on the box! What I liked compared to other doll houses I has researched: (pros)- windows/door open and close and already came assembled/attached to their adjoining wall piece- outside and inside walls of the house already have the stickers applied, no need to mess around with stickers after assembly- standing at about 2 and a half feet tall this doll house is roomy enough for my toddler, but does not tower over her or take up our entire living room- house included cute, sturdy wooden furniture for every room of the house at no extra chargeThings I would improve, but were not deal breakers for me: (cons)- the exterior/interior is not painted and is stickers which could possibly peel down the road- the rear of the house is not finished (no stickers) but if it's kept up against a wall no one will ever know this- the 2 staircases in the house do not permanently attach to the floors (just have two pegs on them that sit in holes on the floor) and can come out of place easily, but I fixed them with my handy glue gunAll in all I am happy with this purchase and even more importantly, my daughter is thrilled with this doll house. She plays with it every day and the few "cons" I pointed out don't effect how much she enjoys this new toy. I do recommend this doll house to anyone with younger kiddos.
