Kapro - 995-41X Vulcan Professional Box Level - Magnetic - Features Shock-Resistant Vials and Dual-View Plumb Site - VPA Tested - 78 Inch

I just received the 78" magnetic Vulcan. Great build quality and very accurate but It doesn't look like any of the engineers tried to actually use this level? They stretched out the middle and left the handles and plumb viewer at the very ends of a 6'6" level. I am 5' 11" Tall and I can't see the Plumb view even on my tippy toes and the hand grips are way too high (spread out). Who's eyes are at 6'3" high to look in the Plum Viewer? This is a door jam level and I couldn't imagine having to look up to 6'3" all day for the plumb view or the side view of the same vial, and the handles are way too far towards the ends. If using for cabinets, picking it up by the handles isn't even possible. they are too close to the ends to use one hand and they are 53" apart which makes grabbing both ridiculously far apart. Kapro makes great levels with great warranties but, for a jammer set, I will have to now look elsewhere. I returned the Apollo jammer since none of the magnets hit any hinges and this Vulcan only hits the top one but at least it hits something. My experience is that most residential contractors mostly hang pre-hung doors all day and the magnets have to hit the hinges. Especially when hanging French pre-finished doors. Move the handles and vials towards the middle so an average height person can use them. I love Kapro levels in general and they are very accurate and priced very well. I especially like the K rail design. It make this line of levels beefier anf way stronger with a nice grab rail the whole length. I picked up some Empires as shown in my pictures and they are a decent level. unfortunately the milled surfaces are way to rough and I can't see the blue bubbles in the blue water with the blue lines! don’t know what they were thinking. so unless Kapro makes a change very quickly, I will unfortunately have to look at Johnson's or some other brand. Stabilla's and Milwaukee's are great but really pricey. Kapro is right up there with them in build quality but not in Price. Wish this level was better thought out. The second picture shows the vial on the bottom of the level. That thing is at 6’ 4” high when flipped over. I’ll need neck surgery if I keep this thing!

It's an OK level but, it's only metric. Which is not how it was described when I purchased. There's also a lot of room for the bubble to float between the lines.

Solidly built and the larger glass levels are perfect. The magnet keeps the level handy. Best level I have ever owned.

These large box levels can be quite expensive but this one is affordable and at least good quality. I would recommend it to others.

I havent put it against other levels but for the minor things I do it got the job done. Seems to be very durable

Hard to find size, perfect for metal railing. Strong magnets hold well and it doesn't fall or move when drilling the posts.

Very well made level just as good as stabil levels at a lower cost you won’t regret it. I use this level in my job installing DWV tubs etc.

Great product! It works flawlessly,I tested the level and it's perfect. Nicely built and feels sturdy. The price was right and it's a joy to use.

The bubble for doing vertical leveling could b lower. I'm 6' & have to stand on tip-toes to see it..Also the edges/corners are slightly recessed so can't really use as a straight edge for marking a line.
