Worth the cost.
Great quality item and worth the cost for a well engineered piece of kit that produces a lovely point on pencils. It can be a little tricky to hold without the second blade catching your finger, so not one for the children to use on their own.

Good sharpener
I was looking for a sharpener for my thicker charcoal pencils. This sharpener works very well with my derwent charcoal pencils and my Conte pencils. If you hate sharpening with a knife this is a good sharpener. Maybe sharpening with a knife wastes less charcoal. I love the simplicity.

First class worth the price
This is the third one of these sharpeners I have bought. One for each case, that's how much I like them. Sturdy, efficient and makes a really sharp point without breaking the lead. I have used it with coloured water soluable pencils and it works splendidly on the softer 'leads'.

The best. Maybe expensive but worth it
Amazing pencil sharpener, should have bought one years ago. Wouldn’t be without it now. Used on several pencils thick and thinner including pastels, watercolour, etc.

Very good, just watch your fingers!
The solid brass construction makes for a sturdy pencil sharpener that feels heavy in the hand. The blades are extremely sharp and effortlessly sharpen pencils. This works as a double-edged sword, however (quite literally), as the geometry means that you're at risk of stabbing yourself while using it. You can probably guess how I found that out... Yes, it's expensive for a pencil sharpener, but worth it for the experience in my eyes. The larger sharpening hole will also come in handy for carpenter's pencils, which makes it pretty versatile (though that's not an original idea by any means).

Nice, but really not great for pastel pencils
Bought this as it was recommended for sharpening pastel pencils, but those pesky buggers still break off! Excellent sharpening otherwise.

Beautiful, pleasing in the hand, and a fantastic sharpener
This is just lovely. It’s pleasingly weighty, despite it’s small size (not much more than a stack of 3 pound coins) - but not so much that I begrudge carrying it in my bag every day. Lovely to look at, and - most importantly - a brilliant sharpener. Or two sharpeners, really. You get a very long, sharp point, whichever of the two blades you use, and a very pleasing, tight, single shaving every time, meaning it’s a lot less messy than other sharpeners that don’t include a collector.
