A Very Good Set 2/3 Phonics Sounds Book As They Get Older Too...
Aimed as an early years book to read to your littlest one so it's a boardbook for this purpose. But also perfectly suited for self-reading by a three or four year old as the sentence structure is simple with brilliant examples of set 2 and 3 phonic sounds - if your new reader learns phonics at school. Some good "alien" words too (which my daughter's teacher calls any made up words) - these 'alien' words are brilliant to test understanding of the phonics by applying the same sounding-out rules to an indistinguishable word.Though this is a board book, the older 3 or 4 year olds have the benefit of it being used if/when they are a sibling to a younger brother or sister. An ideal book for them to read to their younger sibling whilst feeling grown up.

Good value fun way to help with counting
We like this. Our grandson, Thomas, is just two and he's enjoying looking through it, and the mirror page adds extra fun. What we'll be using it for most is to guide him in his early counting and language skills - which are coming along very nicely!

Nice little book
Enjoyed reading this book with a 2 month and a 2 year old. Nicely illustrated and well laid out. We learnt numbers and identified colours and animals. Good quality book, would make a nice gift.

Cute book for babies
This is a hardback board book with bright colourful pictures and a story that is a bit different from the usual baby book stories. The story is simple and each page adds an extra astronaut so simple counting. The final page has a plastic mirror so that baby is the fifth astronaut in the story. Babies love mirrors and looking at themselves so it is a perfect end to the book. This would suit babies from birth to around 18 months I would say but some older toddlers may still enjoy the pictures and counting as familiarity and repetition help children learn language and predicting outcomes.

Not much of a story
This is the 3rd book I've got in this series and I thought since they were good this would be. But it's a bit pointless. There's no actual story just talks about a cat or another animal being astronauts and playing on the moon. It seems like they're animals just to add a sound element and the counting bit is pointless just counting (a sound you make not the book) the astronauts. I thought it would be part of the story not an afterthought. My baby is too young to understand but some books she will sit through and this isn't one of them. Yeah it's a baby book but if you read it a few times a day you want it to be a good one. So disappointedAnd why isn't the 'shiny rocket' made shiny in the picture rather than just described shiny! Seems a very lazyily put together book in my humble opinion. Shame you can't flick through on here before you buy it and avoid being disappointed.

Okay
‘Shiny’ green rocket wasn’t shiny! Apart from that it’s okay - encourages counting to 5 and has a mirror at the end, which is a nice feature.

Nice pictures but not as interactive as I hoped!
Some colourful images and a mirror on the last page so the baby can be an astronaut in the story- not much else for the baby to interact with. Wouldn’t rush to buy it!
