I am not a kid, but purchased this book anyways because I figured the step-by-step examples in it would help me to learn how to draw using shapes and thus develop my ability to see shapes when I look at objects so I can break them down into drawable pieces. I was not disappointed! This book has totally transformed how I look at things and has pushed me ahead leaps and bounds with my art. I'm about half way through the examples in the book and they have been excellent and fun to practice with. Who says a kids book is just for kids? LOL!

This was a great purchase that we keep coming back to. My five year old loves to do this and I do too. I'm not a great artist but this book makes it easy to follow and make cute animal pictures. Highly recommend!!!

I bought this book, and the other two in the series, based in my kindergartener's art teacher's recommendation. I wanted books that a five year old could use independently to learn to draw animals, objects, and people. These fit that bill well. They're nicely made and easy to follow. He was successful on his first try and keeps coming back to draw more.

Bought the book as a Christmas present for an 8 year old great grandchild. Found this book on Amazon, and it appears to be perfect for encouraging a young child to draw. He can produce a creditable animal in a short period of time.

This is an awesome how to draw book.First, though this book is or the younger crow it is full of wonderful character design examples. It is easy to take these characters as bases and expand upon them.. basically.. great for the child of any age :) My be borrowing this from my daughter often.Second, I love the binding. It is designed to lay flat no matter what page you are on so you don't have to find a paper weight or prop the book open while drawing one of the subjects.Finally, great price for what it has to offer for young and old.

ordered used and it came in nicely packaged and no flaws that were mentioned in the description. My kids love following the steps in the books and are making lots of art!

Gave this to my 6 year old grandson...he loved it...sat right down and began to draw....worked with the book for an HR.. Continues to work with it on a regular basis....
