excellent price for a great product
This is the 3rd similar kit I have bought. The first 2 saved me expensive windshield repairs. The first time I used it I had a bad stone chip right in the middle of the windshield. I followed the directions and it looked very nice. 5 years later, I still have the same windshield and the hole is fine, with no cracks radiating out.A couple of weeks ago I had another rock strike with a star right in front of the drivers side above the wiper blade. I stopped in at an auto store and bought a similar product with the syringe and resin. That repair also went well and is holding fine. I expect it will last as long as the first one; we'll see. This blue star kit is going into my glove box so I am ready if it happens again. It is identical to the last one, except is has more things you need (That one from the auto store did not have a razor blade -- trust me, you need that). This blue star kit is also half the cist of the auto store kit. Happy to have it!

Easy to use. Worked great
Had a chipped windshield on a rental car so tried this. It was really easy to use and did an amazing job repairing the chip. The windshield was like new

It worked well, but...
The product did what it said it would do and filled the gap stabilizing my windshield and preventing further cracking. In filling the crack, I was hoping to make it transparent or at least not noticeable. Unfortunately, I could still see the crack. In most cases, I would not be bothered, but it was in my line of site. The 4 stars is reflective of the fact that it was in my line of site and that the crack could still be seen. Consider that when you read this. If it wasn't in my line of site, or completely filled the crack (and that is going to depend on the place of the crack and the type), I would have given it 5 stars. It's possible more suction could have helped, but for the price, you have to temper your expectations.

Far from a professional kit but it got the job done.
Did it work? Yeah. I repaired a large spider in the upper right corner of the windshield glass successfully and appear to have enough resin left over for at least one more spot.Where my disappointment lies is with the adhesive circle. It's made from foam material and does not hold vacuum. I had planned to use a hand vacuum pump (like a mighty-vac) to pull a harder vacuum and out gas the resin and cracks for better filling with less visible crack when I was done. The foam circle kept letting air pull through and the resin kept bubbling and foaming, but I got enough air out of the crack that I was happy enough to put the syringe on and apply the pressure part of the repair. After a couple minutes it blasted resin out the side where the adhesive failed. I was able to add a couple drops of resin and use the plastic sheet and a high power LED UV flashlight to cure the resin to a smooth finish and complete the repair. If the foam circle was made of a solid material like Gorilla mounting tape instead it would stick better, hold vacuum for out gassing better, and then hold pressure to inject the resin better and this would be a five star product. I can reuse the plastic circle with some better tape for the next few smaller repairs I need to make so it's not a total loss. Just a bit annoyed with it.

Didn’t fix a pinhole-sized chip
I realized that I have a tiny chip right in the middle of my windshield, like a pinhead-size chip. But being right in the center drove me crazy (and still will for some time). I followed the directions to a T, used a timer, went over the instructions several times before starting. I peeled off the yellow square, and was disappointed to see the exact same chip, not filled in or fixed at all. I could see if I was trying to repair a large crack or chip, this chip is literally 1mm.$10 wasted, and it’s not enough of a chip to justify filing an insurance claim over it. I was hoping that this would fix the issue and I could ride it out until/if I get a larger chip. Now I’ll have to wait for either more damage, or for that chip to get larger to have it professionally fixed. And of course I can’t return it or get a refund. Don’t waste your money.

Auto Glass Tech with 13 years experience here...
As a former Auto Glass Technician with 13 years experience, I bought this VERY skeptical as to the quality of repair. I no longer have access to the $900 repair machines I used to use when I was on the job, but I needed to fix a stone chip in my windshield. Let's go over some things you NEED to do before you use this product.1. PARK IN THE SHADE. I'll say that again, PARK IN THE SHADE! You need to keep the glass as cool as possible when doing a repair to prevent the repair from breaking out. When glass gets hot it gets brittle and breaks. Also, DO NOT ever run or put water on a chipped or cracked windshield to cool it off. That is asking for it to crack. Naturally let it cool in the shade where it feels cold to the touch.2. FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS on the repair kit. This kit actually has a vacuum setting on it which most kits do not. This is a crucial step in cleaning out the chip and pulling the air out of it.3. Take your time. It's a chip repair, not a pit stop. SLOW DOWN. Follow instructions and work smart.4. WEAR GLOVES AND GLASSES. The chemicals are nasty. Trust me. I have seen one guy catch some repair resin in his eye. However, once was enough. He howled and screamed that it burned so badly, and he was trying to claw his eye out to get it to stop. We had to pour water in his eye by force and restrain the man. Doesn't sound fun does it? Put the glasses and gloves on and keep them on the whole time.5. Some chips are just NOT REPAIRABLE. They may be too large, or too deep, or have cracks extending that cannot be filled. Even the pros have issues with this. It is not a magic wand in a box. You broke the glass, and are attempting to save money by fixing it rather than replacing it. Expect that repair to not be optically clear and perfect, but to be more for structure and integrity. That being said, if there is a chip in your direct line of sight, JUST REPLACE THE GLASS. It's never going to go away 100% and will always be a distraction. You're driving a 2 ton death machine at and around other human beings with families. Pretend to at least care for 5 seconds and don't risk someone else's safety because you're cheap. Now, that I'm done yelling at and judging you, lets go over the quality of the repair. The chip I had was a black bullseye style impact, that was approximately the size of a dime. I used everything in the kit, including all of the resin. Take your time adding the resin. Do all the steps. The chip I had turned out great. I could obviously still see where it was, but I have a trained eye to locate them. It was not an obstruction or distraction any longer. For the price of this kit, my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. If you are a do it yourself type and want to save some cash, this is the way to do it.
