Great stuff
This stuff is great. No smell I thought it was kind of expensive for such a small container, but you apply such a small amount just a thin layer, that I think this will cover several projects. Really easy to wash off the stencils. Only needs 2-3 minutes to dry then use your heat gun and the magic starts working in no time. I did notice the longer you leave the heat going in one place the darker your burn is. I also noticed if you have it too thick it will make a weird textured burn. Definitely need to wipe it off good before staining or clear coating as you will get streaks of black. It does also kind of leave a dull gray look to the burnt spots which goes away once stained and clear coated.I’ve heard complaints that it will bleed into the wood and not give clean burn lines. I did not find this to be the case I got nice clean edges. It could be because I applied with a small flat painters brush versus the rubber spatula that some of the jars come with.

Will buy again and again.
I love using this. A little goes a long way. Dries quickly. Had to buy some for my mom to expand her crafting. She likes that all you need is a heat gun.

Better than a torch pen
I’ve tried the torch pen before, but that always bleeds. This works great! The paste isn’t too thick, it’s thin enough to smooth evenly. Will be rebuying when I run out.

Ok product
The product works but not the way I was hoping. You definitely need to practice with it to see how close you can get to the wood with out over burning it.

Great stuff!
Bought this to personalize some cutting boards I’m giving as gifts to my friends at our Christmas party this year. I made sure to read a lot if the reviews before using so I would know what mistakes to avoid.I’ll start with the value. Yes, I know the jar is small so it feels that you are not getting a lot for your money, but like so many others have said, a little really does go a long way. Seriously, this little jar will last a long time!I first did a test burn on a light piece of raw craft wood and was impressed how nicely it burned. Next, I was ready for the real thing. It’s important to use a good stencil or even better, a silk screen so that you can squeegee off any excess (very important). Once the paste was applied, I removed my screen, then waited about 10 minutes to allow the paste to dry a bit. After a little trial/error, I came to the conclusion that you get a better result if you let it dry a bit before putting the heat gun to it. The reason being is that it slightly reduces the amount of time needed with the heat gun. The longer you use the heat gun, the more you risk darkening the area around your intended torch paste area. When burning, I kept my heat gun a couple inches from the wood surface. This takes some patience. After about 5 minutes or so, I became frustrated as I was not seeing any results. I think the heat was still drying the paste and once it’s dry is when it starts to darken. The cutting boards I used were a darker wood. I would recommend a lighter wood for best results. It’s too late now, but if I could, I would have used a bamboo cutting board

A little good a LONG way!
This paste works perfectly and does exactly what it says it does. The jar and amount seems small but you really don’t have to use much at all!

Really good and easy…
This worked shockingly well. Below is my first attempt and I went for it. I did two stencils - first with the stripes and then second with the whole tiger outline. Goal was to make the whole thing pop and have two different shades. I think i could have hit the stripes more to darken them better but for a quick test (15 minutes) - this is a ridiculously good result. Very impressed with the level of detail - the tiger is about 3” tall for scale and it darkened exactly where i wanted and nowhere else.

Somewhat works
Somewhat works. I may just need a hotter heat gun but even then not a very deep burn and easily comes of with just a few passes of sand paper. Doesn’t seem to be what I was hoping for.
