A lot of the reviews for this item focus on the packaging which is not the same as in the photos. I already had one of these gifted to me earlier this year, and so knew ahead of time what to expect. For a collector, it is a disappointment not to have the brush and the box, but in my opinion this is only a small part of the overall product, especially if you are thinking of buying this for a kid.The packaging may not be as pictured and there is no 40th anniversary patch on the front hoof, but that aside, this is a GREAT quality toy. The fabric is soft and well stitched. The symbols and eyes are embroidered. The colours are vibrant (I own Glory and Moondancer and both are very striking).So, onto the details of the ponies I have (Moondancer and Glory) - both for parents and collectors (or both).These are based a lot on the original 1980s plushes, which is why Moondancer has pink hair and a gold horn (the original did as well). This release gives Glory a silver horn to match. I didn't know how I would feel about this but I actually think it looks quite cool. Both ponies had cardboard protectors over their horns inside the bag, and plastic holding the mane down (not the most environmental method, but tried and tested to prevent tangles).The mane and tail is thickly rooted on both, brushable (although no brush is included, any doll or pony brush would do). The mane reaches down about 3/4 of the pony's body, the tail hangs just below the rear hooves.The ponies have cardboard tags attached on arrival, these would be easy to remove if giving to a child.These are smaller and softer than the original plushes (many of which have aged badly). I think this size is better as it is easier to store. They are still a reasonable size for a child to play with and enjoy.Overall I recommend these plushes. I am knocking one star off my review for the packaging miscommunication, but giving four stars for the quality of the toy.I purchased Moondancer while these were listed at £14.99 which seems a fair price to me.

I love the pony, but the advertisement is wrong! It shows pony in a lovely display box and comes with a comb. Mine did not come with a comb or a box 😪

Granddaughter loved this, but difficult to untangle plastic from hair but still lovely

It itself is lovely and cute but does not match photos. Does not come in box. Does not come with comb. Does not have 40th logo on the foot….. poor description

The product inside is lovely but if you’re a collector be ware this is being falsely advertised. It comes in a bag not the nice display box shown, the foot isn’t stamped and there is not brush.
