Superb drainage. Easy to use.
This is my second purchase of this bonsai soil. I do not actually use it for bonsai (as I haven't quite moved in yet to my residence) but I have added it to soils that were somewhat water-logged and planted a number of plants demanding or preferring well-drained soil. I find it is a wonderful 'additive' to other soils (I realize this is not why it was created) and well as a superb soil for cactus, succulents, and anything else that is very sensitive to over-watering (am I the only one who consistently does this?!). Not cheap (hence 4 stars on value) but a fine addition to all your gardening/planting needs. I know I'll be purchasing again, and in higher quantities when I'm ready to go back to growing specific bonsai. Highly recommend.

Drains really well.
I like the natural appearance of the product the fact that it drains really well and it was easy to exchange it for the old soil

Nice soil
This was a nice blend of materials. I am making a bonsai out of a jade cutting. The cutting is starting to get new growth after about a week of being planted. Soil has good drainage but at the same time holding adequate water.

Avoid this soil
This is not bonsai soil. This soil resembles orchid soil. It is 85-90% pine park/ organic matter. The rest is large clay chunks or stone. I am disappointed with this product and advertisement of it. I would NOT recommend this to anyone using this for actual bonsai soil.

Not ready to use
This is supposed to be "ready to use" bonsai soil. It is not.The pine bark is too large for most applications, especially if your trees are young, and still training. There is way too little aggregate (various grit and small rocks) and way too much bark andthebark is much to big. The various aggregate is too large for most applications. This soil will need to be amended to be useful as a bonsai soil. Otherwise, it will dry out very quickly, and will NOT retain enough moisture for most applications unless you can be available to water frequently during the summer.I cannot recommend this as a bonsai soil on it's own.I will now have to sort out the large pieces of bark and replace it with better materials. It needs other material to be useful.I can see this being useful as an additive to soil for garden trees or maybe bush plantings to get better drainage. But not as a bonsai soil.
