Good bargain
I bought this because the FAA made me. Not happy about that, but if you have to buy one, this is a good deal and it seems to work fine.

Cheap and FAA compliant
Title says it all. Not a fan of remote ID. The old saying 'bad people do bad things, laws have never changed this'. I fly small electric RC planes in the park (for now) but 250 grams is a tough limit so I gave in and bought this.

Android Users Beware- Try Ruko Scanner App if not Working
Android issues with both Android 15 and Android 13 devices. Thanks to the suggestion of an earlier reviewer, I used the Ruko Scanner app instead and this module works perfectly with that app. I thought for a minute there I was going to need to return the module but it's working great now. Three stars because what should have taken five minutes ended up taking an hour to get resolved.

Meets FAA I.D. requirements
Meets FAA regulations, My opinion another government bureaucracy overreach. RF transmitter for identification of essentially TOY aircraft, really?

5 Stars as a RID option. RID itself would get zero stars.
I was honestly surprised how small this unit was upon opening the box. The pics in the listing make it look bigger than it is. It is about the size of a small Sirius square antenna. The pic is the unit next to a 30x30 Speedybee flight controller and an ELRS RX. On the scale it weighs 13.5g plus the velcro or whatever you use to attach it to your craft.I'm happy to report that while the instructions have a QR code to side-load the app that just hung when I tried to access it, the Holystone 'Drone Finder' app works perfectly with this module. As this is the name of the app called out int he instructions, and looking at the name on this module, this module is definitely 'inspired' by the Holystone one, just at about half the cost. This was my first time setting up a RID module and I quickly realized you don't really need to 'configure' the module unless you want it to also broadcast your FAA registration number. Kind of annoyingly it makes you fill out fields that don't apply in the US (drone class, weight, etc) but as they dont' apply, I just put in enough to let me 'save'.The unit is visible and tracks in Drone scanner. I'll play with it for range at the park, but honestly who cares.

So far so good
So far its great but I haven't flown with it on my drone just yet, although on the tracking app it said I was flying with it and showed that It was moving but I was sitting at my desk not moving. It was easy to install and setup battery life seems ok.
