Q: How do i sync this with other gear? specifically, im looking to connect it with the roland aira compact series instruments, and play them together..

It has both MIDI in/out ports on the back, and there there is the analog clock output (sync) up on the front panel that can be used to easily connect to other analog or CV controlled devices like Eurorack gear. Im pretty sure the Roland Aria units have both sync in and midi. I personally prefer the MIDI route this connection by default will send or receive a clock signal! Hope that helps

Q: Does this have preloaded patterns out of the box or does it require software from a computer to work?

Don’t know why seller said you need a computer? Not true. Comes with preset patterns you can just plug it into speakers and go to town

Q: Does it really click so loudly, as in the video? (detent clicks) And are there other genres of sounds or is this specifically a 303/acid-type device?

Dear customer,Yes, it can be that clicky, depends on the DEPTH and ACCENT knobs' position. You might notice that in the video, these two parameters are quite high, as a result, the sound is more punchy.The Essential B1 is perfect for 303 / acid type of sound. But with the built-in effects and arpeggiator and stuffs, it is more versatile and is able to fit in many genres. Thank you.

Dear customer, both Donner B1 and Roland Aira Compact have external audio input jacks. So depending on which device you want to plug your headphones into, let’s say you want to hear the output from Aira Compact, you should connect the HEADPHONE OUT on B1 and the MIX IN on Aira Compact via a 3.5mm TRS cable.If you want to plug your headphones in B1, you should connect MIX OUT on Aira Compact and AUX IN on B1 via a 3.5mm TRS cable.Hope this can solve your problem.If you have any other questions, please contact us via Amazon message, and we will try our best to help you.
