We installed this radio in a 2001 Toyota. I like how small, compact, and light it is. Installation was very easy. We used a car-specific wiring harness, and I appreciate that this radio utilized the standardized wire colors. Plugged it all in, and we had a working radio on the first try!The rear-view camera is very crisp. Excellent video quality, and very clear even at night. We replaced/upgraded the car's reverse lights with bright white LEDs to help with video quality, but I'm not sure that was necessary.The dash cam is of average quality. If you're looking for a lot of features in a dash cam, buy a depart unit.One note - this radio doesn't seem to have an interface for steering wheel controls, so if you have a newer car with those, you may be disappointed.Apple car play works perfectly. Both wired and wireless. I appreciate that there are both types of USB ports (A and C) available right at the front.

This head unit is fairly basic in terms of not having rear USB ports or extensive audio adjustments other than the equalizer, balance/fade, loudness, and subwoofer cutoff. The interface is simple and there is not a lot of customization of the background. For me it was more than enough to adjust the audio quality and backgrounds to my liking.It was a very easy unit to install in a 1996 Avalon with a 2-din opening. This car has no built in amp so speaker wiring was simple as well as adding a subwoofer/amp (the unit has 2 sub outs). The car had an older aftermarket receiver in it, so it already had an aftermarket wiring harness that I connected to. I would recommend purchasing a harness specific to your car and any trim kits you may need if you buy this unit, so you do not have to cut into the existing wiring harness. The manual gives you links companies that supply this and canbus accessories you may need.I emailed tech support on the manual asking for firmware update and a Toyota startup splash screen and they were very quick, polite, and responsive to my email. It took them less than 24 hours in my case to respond with the needed files and excellent instructions on upgrading the firmware. The splash screen was almost not needed as the unit quickly boots up and connects to CarPlay, the splash screen is only up for 2-3 seconds. Sound quality/separation is really good and the physical volume button was a must since the car does not have any steering wheel controls, though the unit is capable of connecting to steering wheel controls. FM reception is excellent, even with the broken antenna on the car. You can add numerous stations to the unit's memory. The rear-view camera and dash cam are easy to install and are clear and work as intended.The included manual is excellent and covers installation needs including wiring, steering wheel controls, if applicable, and troubleshooting. The company has a Facebook presence and has QR links in the manual for videos and additional help should you need it.I feel that this unit appears to be built well and is easy to navigate and use. I do not hear any hissing or ground loop noise from the stereo. Installation is simple and well documented. It was an inexpensive upgrade to an older car, giving it more utility and listening comfort.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The stereo is a nice quality and good picture on the screen. Very user friendly. I was impressed with how nice it is after I got it installed in my 04 Jeepwrangler TJ. The only downside is the front dash cam. It was very cheap and no screen and no way to transfer videos wirelessly. You have to pull sd card and transfer that way. . . The reverse camera tho works perfectly !!! Over all great product but needs a better front camera for the 5 star.
