Great E-Reader
These are great devices. We bought them for the whole family this Christmas to make reading more entertaining. The kids have really enjoy picking books online and being able to read them instantly. They were refurbished so I always have concerns but they work flawlessly. They are durable, light weight, and easy to use. These were a great buy for our family. We have no complaints with these devices.

My wife bought NOOK FOR me 12/21/24 NEW.TUESDAY OR 3 days ago the screen said "Your NOOK is updating. Please wait a moment. " STILL SAME MESSAGE ON SCREEN. WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY EFFORT. Amazon offers 0 assistance. Except pay to join their support product. Nook offered a minimal discount on new purchase. Why should ANYONE BUY NOOK OR ANYTHING ELSE,??? I DON'T KNOWANYONE ELSE? HELP IF YOU CAN.

Improvement to reading
Super easy set to set up. Holds a good charge. It's a very light device. 10/10 me and my girlfriend love it and have been reading more bc of it

Device showed up early, and was exactly as I expected. So far (first week of use) so good. Fits the need, looks new and works fine.

Wish I didn’t buy it
I’ve had this almost a month now. Never had a book before to compare functionality but this one, it freezes a lot and sometimes won’t turn off so I have to let it die and back up again. I don’t know if other Nooks are “glitchy” this one blinks a few times before moving on to whatever I’ve pressed . Honestly if I had common sense and knew I could just download the app on my other devices I would have, but I didn’t look into it well enough on how ebook buying works. That’s on me. I know it’s refurbished but I feel like this one slipped though before being checked out.

Lacks basic screen lock passcode, anyone can look through your library.
Nice screen size, decent display. However, it lacks the basic functionality of a screen lock with a password or code. Your library is open to anyone who happens to pick up your device. The B&N account can be locked from purchasing, but seem ridiculous that in this age of privacy protection and security such a basic requirement is overlooked. Returning this, hopefully they get serious with the next iteration as a modern consumer device.
