Great build as very sturdy and great feel in your hand. Great if you don't want the bigger version in the way.

I have this attached to a metal cage on an Insta360 Ace Pro and it works perfectly - very comfortable to hold. Highly recommended.

Having a hangle on a camera allows you to get much more steady shots while out and about. These handles move your hands away from the camera and give you a far sturdier grip, giving less wobble and a smoother shot. I wanted to try this out for myself.Having got the Smallrig cage, I wanted to get some extras to it. One of the things I was looking at was a handle and I am now wishing I had gotten it sooner!The handle is made up a three parts. The plastic/ rubberised handle piece, the metal bridge which connects to the cage and finally the allenkey which is descretely hidden away with magnets on the underside of the handle.The handle itself is made of a smooth finish plastic. The whole handle is very lightweight but does feel solid in the plastic construction. There are parts of it that are using a grippy finish, however this is just the plastic formed in a different way. All of it feels really premium and I am impressed by the quality of the finish. The only downside is that this can be a sweaty hand finger print magnet. However even with sweaty hands, its super easy to hold. The cold shoe mount on the top is quite tight but I was able to fit a flash/ remote reciever into this with no issues.The bridge is made of metal and the screws which attach the handle and to the cage are made of metal. The ones into the case have a knurled finish which is tactile and easy to turn, even with sweaty hands. The other bolts are tightened with the included allen key.Overall, for £24.90 (-15% with voucher), this is an excellent addition to anyones camera setup. This helps get a better hand hold on the camera setup and remove some of the shakiness to allow you to get smooth footage. Very happy with this and it was completely compatible with my other Smallrig parts! 5/5!

Updated review:Since there's already a grip on the right hand side of the a7iv body, I obviously only need a handle on the left. I have three handles already and every single one of them would fit in the top screw holes of the Smallrig cage. Not this side handle though. Just to be more thorough I did go back and test the other holes out and it turns out that there's two "lower" screw holes that this will fit into. I've never used them before as their position felt a bit weird, but it is what it is.Original review:Unfortunately, this won't fit the cage for my a7iv.It seems the spacing between the screw holes is 2mm out.Positives are that SmallRig has been conscious with their packaging, all of it is recyclable. Also the handle is left and right capable.

This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.I was particularly drawn to it, because I have never used any kind of rig for my camera previously, but am in the process of building one, so thought that this handle might be a useful addition.The build quality of the handle itself is excellent - it's very sturdy, and has a sleek finish, which is accentuated by the comfortable rubber grip on the outside.It is very easy to attach to an existing cage, and, there is actually a magnetic slot contained within it, which allows you to keep the included allen key safe - very handy for changing things up on the go! The only design feature I wasn't sure about is the fact that, depending on which way around you mount the handle, the coldshoe adapter might face the wrong way (especially because it's non-removable). It's not a massive problem, but something worth bearing in mind.To test, I affixed it to the SmallRig Panasonic Lumix GH5 cage, and found that it was more than capable of both load-bearing and keeping everything nice and steady - this was especially true when I used it in conjunction with a different variant of a SmallRig side handle, and the SmallRig Arri Top Handle (which I have also received to test and review).In summary, a good value item that is worthy of a place in any camera kit.

This is the ideal side handle for your camera when you use a cage to mount the mics, screens and accessories. This side handle can fit on either side of the cage, and you can also adjust the height on the mounting bracket. One small niggle is that the bracket only fits in to the handle one side, so if you swap the handle from the right side to the left then the cold shoe in the top of the handle points backwards.I really like the magnetic holder for the allen key in the base of the handle itself, clever design indeed.

I think this is of value; the product is lovely to hold, especially for a long time.The product is an excellent grip; you can use it on any 1/4 hole, either as a single grip or attach it into a cage.I definitely recommend this product.
